Philosophy is mostly non-sense, yes.

Why is computer science mostly not nonsense? Why is mathematics mostly not nonsense? Because of practical applications?

It's how vs why. Physics doesn't delve into morality or meaning of existence, and philosophy doesn't delve into the inner workings of molecular science.

Physicists are usually visual thinkers. Philosophers are usually more word thinkers.
So philosophers can get lost in different meanings of words, or invent their own. Or even invent their own logic.
And physicists can get stuck in certain visuals.
