Do you have a heart? How do you know?

Have you ever looked into your chest to verify it is there? Have you seen your heart with your own eyes? Or do you believe you have a heart, because you have been told you have one? Is the feeling of the beat within your chest sufficient proof for you that it is there?

Do you have a soul?

Long after your physical heart ceases its rhythm, your soul will continue to exist. Will you require proof before you believe? Why did you not require more proof to believe you have a heart?

Yes, that is sufficient proof. My eyes are not the only sense I make use of.

That just really depends on the definition of "soul," but in the sense I think you're using: no.

Will you require proof before you believe?

"Proof" is too strong a standard. As Descartes spent his life learning, it's almost impossible to prove anything. "Compelling evidence" is closer to my standard for belief.
