What's your obsession w/ the word 'asshole'?

Yes - saying that men are men and can never be women is pathologically black and white thinking. >Eyeroll< And yes, if you believe that men can become women or that they should be called 'she' after some arbitrary level of achievement, then yes, you've been brainwashed.

Being a woman is not an honor to be conferred upon a man because he grows his hair out and wears a dress. Nor should defending an innocent woman against a horde of psychos honorable enough to alter one's sex either. Women take incredible amounts of shit from TRAs, up to and including being assaulted, deplatformed and fired.

GC people treat trans people like human beings - we just don't believe that they're the target sex and refuse to pretend that they are. You'd be amazed how warm and polite people can be and not make any reference to sex or gender at all. But, people who are so caught up in their fantasies of 'being' the opposite sex seem to overlook this.

No one's having a meltdown. We're simply saying that men can't be women. And...the hissy fits come from the handmaidens and the TRAs.

Asshole - such nice langauge.

Cross-sex hormones have a way of knocking out a man's sperm. Go figure. Amazing how those pesky rules that apply to other people keep applying even to the genderspeshul.

Senor White was, more than likely, a perfectly fertile male until he started taking cross-sex hormones. Not informed? I find that hard to believe. Also, Senor White has a google machine, which I presume he knows how to use. It's quite possible to google side-effects of drugs one will be taking, presumably, for life. Or did the estrogen make Blair too lady-brained for him to remember to do that? Uwu.

Terminology? Saying he doesn't have DNA anymore? Again - there's the google machine. Or paying attention in biology class. But I guess if one is gender-speshul enough, the rules aren't supposed to apply to their glittery self. Sperm require testosterone to remain healthy and motile. Duh. And, if he means sperm, why not just say that?

You're all for 'shitting in gender woo' but you're making excuses for a man making ignorant, incorrect statements and referring to that man as 'she'. Sounds a bit hypocritical.

Because an eye is not just something that looks like an eye. It's something that has the anatomical properties of an eye. If one can't see out of one's eye, that's a problem. If one can't see out of their arm skin, that's not a problem. Even a blind person's eye is still an eye - it's an eye that's not functioning properly but it's still an eye. A ball of arm skin is still a ball of arm skin and nowhere close to being an eye.

[–]littlerbear 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Men have penises because of their genetic composition. The penis is connected to sperm-producing testicles and acts as a conduit between the testicles and a woman's uterus. A phalloplasty is not connected to sperm-producing testicles, so it can't perform the task that a penis evolved to form. Women who get phalloplasties do not have the genetic blue-print to from a natural penis; they have the genetic blueprint to form a vagina, uterus, etc. They can't impregnate anyone with their pseudopenis. A phalloplasty doesn't function like a real penis either - men don't have man-made semi-rigid rods on either side of their penises.

People with BPD definitely have cognitive processing issues, so do people who suffer from depression. I wouldn't be surprised if people with AGP or GD also have some cognitive problems.

Problem is, these people, whose reality orientations are skewed should not be dictating what and how the rest of us think, perceive, speak, etc. ...

One more question: if we can change the meaning of words to suit our own personal preferences, I should be able to call a trans woman a man, since in LB world, trans women are men. Why can't they just change the meaning of the word 'man' in their mind to suit my language needs?

[–]littlerbear 22 insightful - 1 fun22 insightful - 0 fun23 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Because words mean things. The rest of the world is perfectly cool with 'woman' meaning adult human female and 'man' meaning adult human male. We're also cool with 'female' meaning 'having the reproductive system that allows for producing eggs and being impregnated' and 'male' meaning 'having the reproductive system that allows for producing sperm and impregnating'. Why does everyone need to change the way they use language to accommodate people with gender identity issues?

And, if the definition of 'woman' is expanded to include men who think they're women, women's rights disappear. We lose our rights to privacy, free association and all the sex-based protections we've fought for.

As for the 'male uterus' thing, it's just nonsense. Only women have uteruses, if someone has a uterus that person is female. This has nothing to do with gender identity. And, think for a second, about people who aren't trans. Think of a kid just learning about their bodies and the names for parts. If we say 'people have uteruses' this is vague to the point of meaninglessness. If we say 'some men have uteruses' this is a LIE. If we say 'only women have uteruses' this is specific and this is the truth. If we say 'women who identify as men have uteruses and women who don't identify as men have uteruses' we're also telling the truth and acknowledging gender identity without creating any unnecessary confusion.

Sex doesn't just refer to the actual production of the gametes, but the potential or past production of gametes. Little girls are born with ovaries so they can potentially produce eggs; postmenopausal women did, for a large portion of their lives, produce eggs even though that egg production has stopped. Little boys are born with testes, so they have the potential to create sperm; I don't think sperm production ever stops but it decreases in volume and quality as men age. And, sex is in the chromosomes which are in every cell of the body. There are XX or XY chromosomes in the brain, in the nerve fibers, in the organs. People are sexed down to the cellular level.

I'm not making concessions in my language to take care of some dude's genderfeels. Women are not 'assigned' at birth; sex is observed, gender is imposed. I have no interest in lying to myself and other people about the reality of sex and how it's determined to make some trans people happy. If they can't deal with reality, that's their issue. Maybe they should learn how not to harass, dox, assault, mantrum, etc when women talk about our bodies and our lives in accurate terms. As for trans men, people who begin life as female zygotes become female fetuses, those female fetuses become female children, who eventually grow into women. Trans men are adult human females since sex doesn't change. Again, maybe the people who have the issue with the way language has been used for millennia are the ones who need to male the adjustment.

Don't worry - they're spewing the same BS on Twitter and Facebook, so...it's all on record.

Well said. I have no energy left to explain to people that women are human beings and as such have the right to defend ourselves. I'll just jump right over the explanation and go into action.

[Discussion] How do trans women feel like women? by deity in GenderCritical

[–]littlerbear 7 insightful - 2 fun7 insightful - 1 fun8 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

They can't. It's part of the delusion that goes along with being trans. They don't have the body, they don't have the socialization, so all they can base their 'feels' on is what they've observed. From reading some of their posts, it almost seems like they've never even had a conversation with a woman. It's as if they believe that their mothers floated around on some glittery cloud of perfume all day. It's truly odd.

Tell them that women don't have penises and when they say 'what about post op trans women?' tell them that a surgically altered penis is still a penis. If they persist, ask them if they want you to specify what else is used to line a functional hole in a man's crotch. If they keep going, remind the individual that an actual vagina is not lined with penis, scrotum, tilapia skin or colon. And, you can always circle back to 'if you're a woman in the first place, why'd you have your penis removed? Women never have to have their penises removed because we don't have penises.' As unpalatable as some of these discussions can be, they do indeed get the point across.

How long will it be before the men of this world we should go back to women not having a vote too?

There are women whose husbands tell them how to vote, which is dreadful enough, but then they go ahead and vote how their husband tells them to, regardless of what they actually believe. That's why we need spaces like this - to get relief from the misogyny of men and the women who support them.

We're talking about men as a class, not as individuals. Same for women. As a class/group women catch way more hell than men (as a group) do.
