why did the Romans want to expel them

There are several reasons for this; profanation of Mysteries (again, see Socrates/Plato and Jesus both being killed for sharing the secrets), Jesus being himself a member of the royal line of Pharaohs, the Calou giving the Essenes ancient technology which was partly used to, as mentioned, generate, distribute and store power, but also partly used to defend themselves.

A great deal of sources suggest Qumran was sacked by Rome. Signs point toward Roman authorities being extremely unflattered by them, leading them to hunt down the Essenes as well as the Proto-Christians. There are adjacent theories about an earthquake or even multiple destroying the village's/compound's infrastructure. Ultimately, it appears it was related to their disinterest in Essene practices.

This also ties into the reason for the splintering of early Christians, which conveniently explains my theory regarding "ancient Judaism", which most people confuse for Essenic cults and their practices. I find a lot of people who take this rhetorical route haven't come to understand the concept of nor integrated the Anima. By my estimation, this usually means they're struggling with their masculinity and aren't sure how to mesh the two polarities within themselves yet. I saw a video once where a bunch of older CIA guys who are now retired I guess got together for an anniversary of sorts and recalled a lot of the experiments they did, some of the test subjects, ways they went about the experiments, sentiments they had about them and all sorts of other interesting subjects that pertain to the topic.

I don't really blame you for being skeptical in its current state. I've found a lot of value in the people that go there and a lot of the discussion. They also make very interesting connections that you can see before other people put them together. For about two years now, I could go and see what they were discussing, have a good grasp of the topic, go and briefly explain it to someone and then have them come back to me and say, "hey, I saw that thing you were talking about on the news. I had no idea what you meant, but it makes so much more sense now!"
Bear in mind, the people that go to QR are just /pol/acks and normies we reluctantly let hang out with us.
Oh, and Militaries have, for quite some time, utilized coded communications so that adversaries weren't sure about what they were discussing, as have plenty of other organizations.

The thing about provocation is most people don't see it as being very valuable. Oddly, that's how we got Trump elected though. Humans have limits, at least for the time being.
Musk actually explains this well when he talks about download and upload speeds. Humans can take a lot in very quickly and processing it isn't a huge deal (for a while at least). Our issue largely is "uploading" that information, or conveying it meaningfully and with a pace that can keep up with the "download" speeds.
There are other limits too, but we don't have to delve deep in to things.

At a certain point, you can't keep innovating cars to solve over-crowded traffic, for instance. Sure, automating a lot of the human element of driving by deploying software to make these quick decisions for us might be helpful temporarily, but we have to address all the space we're not using when it comes to travel before too much longer. Do you really think humans will draw the line at personal flying vehicles?...

So, there's cognitive limits to humans, that we can all agree upon. The issue everyone tends to notice but not be able to address is the trade off between convenience and security: should we really give up our ability to be mind-hacked (well... more effectively) in order to perform more efficient cognitive functions?
At a certain point, it will dawn on us that this is inevitable. It might not be until after our grand kids grow old and forget our warnings, but it'll come. The trick, frankly, is doing it correctly.

Ultimately, we cannot let Fear, Uncertainty or Doubt stop us from properly innovating and mending faults of the Human Condition.

That's what police are. This is why we need the Second Amendment and this is what makes over-budgeted police departments so appalling. We're better off defunding police departments (maybe outside of big cities) and returning proper authorities to the local sheriff, like things should be. There are too many laws as it is and between traffic violations and victim-less crimes, we're wasting our time with most local PD budets. Besides, those guys are all in fraternities and too many cops get paid off as it is. Imagine how rampant blackmail or bribery is in big cities where there's hundreds and hundreds (or more) of cops.

With a free market, less restrictive laws (reducing black markets), properly dealing with money in politics and with proper incentives for kids to learn and seek entrepreneurship, we can alleviate most cartel or gang action. Drug lords would make perfect businessmen, for instance. If we really need the tax dollars, we should apply a tax to them and legalize them.
