Answers, roughly...

There are something like 10,000 nodes out there. Impossible to give an exact number, which is probably a good thing.

A machine running Qortal can run Chrome or Firefox and can browse via a "gateway". You can offer your own gateway, while running the 'node' software on your machine. You may well be able to arrange some deal with others to keep your website online, so basically a hosting account but I'm not entirely clear on the details of that yet.

No emulators, cos you can either run your existing software on your existing operating system, such as Windows, or dive into Qortal itself and use that.

Still exciting stuff, though not convinced its anywhere near ready for primetime yet... Will dive into the wiki some more and see what's up...

Here's a great video about it, and lemme post a comment and 2 excellent responses it got:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QauwWPhwCRs

"There will always be servers for web-hosting of dissident content, even through the so-called "darknet." If you have an IP address, you can be traced. So what real benefits does Qortal offer?"

"Hello Tim. This is G Factor here. First off, even if "they" were to block a port, we can always circumvent to be frank. On another note, there are plans for further privacy features such as obscuring IP addresses. It is true that we are still in our beta era for the platform with a lot of work still to be done (and will ultimately be an indefinite matter). As far as TRUE decentralization goes, sure "they" could shut down the entire Internet, but is not likely. Quit buying into all the fear porn, as it's always wise to be aware of the risks and to stay vigilant, but it's another thing to submit to such vulnerabilities. Fight or fold Tim, which do you choose? We have the technology to liberate the world, and Qortal is about utilizing blockchain technology to its true potential. As far as your dismissive comment regarding mesh networking never being adopted enough to form a worldwide mesh network, that's your perspective and you're certainly entitled to it. Truth is, as our freedoms are being infringed upon, and public doubt increases of our leadership's ability to preserve our freedoms, more people are waking up to 'reality' and open to these concepts we aim to implement. Local mesh networks are the starting point here soon, while the word spreads and the technology proves itself. Then we can onboard long-range ground-based solutions to help bridge gaps of larger local mesh networks, and eventually utilize satellites to bridge local mesh networks. Sure, we're just a bunch of forward-thinking nerds reaching for the stars (quite literally). Bottom line, this is all possible, despite how daunting the task. I hold the perspective that there are more people ready to fight, than fold. So, grab your popcorn. Sit back and watch if you choose. Not everyone will jump on the field to play ball, some will watch from the bleachers, while some sit at home clueless watching the Kardashians. Heh. Had to throw a little humor into this. Again fight or fold. We're at a major fork in the road in mankind's story, and while I am no 'anarchist', I do believe that anarchistic platforms like Qortal are more than promising the deeper you dig"

And also:

"What "real benefits" does Qortal offer/will offer? First and foremost, Qortal is decentralized infrastructure where virtually any system can be built securely. This means virtually endless possibilities. Yes we have our own coin called QORT. It is the tip of the iceberg and serves two purposes: 1) powers on-chain functionality and 2) can be used as a medium of exchange on the Qortal Network where e-commerce and job markets can thrive. Let's get back to Qortal rather than the coin which should speak for itself after that previously line, to be frank. Qortal will host a suite of default features: p2p encrypted chat (live now), p2p trading (live now), free web/data hosting (live now), egalitarian system for 'mining' which we call MINTING that restores Satoshi's vision where anyone can run an average computer as a node (live now), a Voting System with a weighted vote based on time and contribution - as Qortal is focused on egalitarianism where money cannot buy influence over the network (built mostly on the backend now & about to be the next big development after...), Q-Apps: just like our website concept that is live, where users can build their own projects without any gatekeepers - other than asset issuance which will require the community and DevTeam to authorize to avoid a scam show like historically seen on Ethereum, ISP alternative which we just covered, and so much more. So what are the real benefits? True sovereignty both in the digital space, and into the physical realm where we can build new ecosystems such as agriculture, trade of goods, point of sale systems, etc. Deep stuff that we're hardly scraping the surface of with this response."

(Bonus reply: crowetic 8 months ago You really need to come take a look at HOW everything in Qortal is built. Then you will see the differences. We do not rely upon 'servers' at all, there is nothing that CAN be centralized in the same fashion as the current internet.

Check out the way that Qortal Data Network functions, and you'll see what I'm saying. With each view/follow, the content gets more distributed, faster, more anonymous, more redundant. It is an unstoppable data network with an underlying blockchain security layer.

One of the primary difference is that with an underlying decentralized infrastructure platform, you no longer need multiple centralized databases to keep track of username/password combinations. There is no centralized database to be hacked or stolen from. There is no need to keep track of hundreds of different username/password combinations for different services. Everything uses Qortal's authentication system, and there is no need to have reliance upon individually controlled centralized databases with varying levels of security.

Also, it is an unhackable infrastructure (in the traditional sense, as in it can't have 'data breaches' etc.) and requires only a registered name (one time QORT payment) to have a 'domain' that lasts forever, with ZERO hosting costs.

You can literally put up an app or a website ONCE, and that website will be there until you decide to take it down. Forever. It will get faster and stronger and more anonymous as more people view it, and it will be completely free for you to put up, and maintain, indefinitely. All while retaining an unhackable nature. Even if the code you put up isn't 'secure', due to the extreme security of the data network itself, you don't have to be concerned about that. Especially since the authentication is handled by the Qortal account. Secured by the Qortal Blockchain.

Also, the consensus behind Qortal's chain is unique, just like the platform itself, it is one of the only truly unique blockchain platforms in the world.

You really need to come look at it, use it, and see for yourself the differences. Very soon we will be adding 'Q-Apps' functionality, and platforms like YouTube, Twitter, Reddit, FaceBook, will all be possible to be built on QDN. That is the point when the value of the platform will become completely obvious to everyone. Those who get in before that will be able to take advantage sooner, and position themselves better for the future voting system, etc... by starting to mint the chain and gain in level now.

Qortal is THE infrastructure platform for a free future. Would be happy to talk to you more about this in our telegram, Discord, or on Q-Chat (Qortal's native instant messaging service.)"

I understand how ya feel, and felt similar a few years ago, when watching a documentary about this coming. However the advances over just the last 2 months have been mind-blowing, and now there's a full-blown arms race between the AI makers.

It's actually easy to code to beat a human at chess now. That's not difficult at all. That's simply a flawless machine that doesn't make any error, whereas every human will. The real breakthrough is that these things are self-teaching, so advancing beyond comprehension. They already have models with an human test IQ score of 114. A few months ago the most advanced, ChatGPT 3.5 could just about pass the legal bar exam in the US, albeit with a score in the bottom 10%. This week they launched 4.0 and it aces the exam in the top 10% - and it's important to realize this is a general model, not a specialist lawyer model. They just gave it the questions and it aced them.

The scary bit is not that it knows the answer to such questions, but that it understands the question and context.

When I first tried ChatGPT 3.5 I immediately asked it 'How do I know you're not a human?' It replied 'I am a human.' so I was as sneering and dismissive as you. 4.0 changes things, it's much, much more self-aware, and aware of what you're thinking, based on your questions.

Understand this is an order of magnitude beyond some animals able to recognize themselves in a mirror; this thing can recognizes the likely thoughts in your head. That's beyond a human child.

I see no reason to presume blue collar jobs are safe from that.

Have you seen what AI can already do?

There's no such thing as a job safe from it. The Palm-E (E for embodied, ie a robot) can already understand 3D environments from a 2D photo, and navigating around and doing things in actual 3D is easy for it. Right now they're playing with RD2 type crap with a single arm, but humanoid 2 legged designs will be extremely easy with an AI brain that understands its environment and it's own physique.

They're already saying at least one of the AIs have an IQ of 114, ie noticeably smarter than a normal human for cognitive tasks. Give this tech a couple of years from now and we could have robots smarter, faster, more flexible, more accurate and more affordable than a human janitor, and able to be updated with apps to learn any new role or task.

This is all coming online way faster than even the designers ever expected, and because some have launched others are launching too, triggering an AI arms race.

It's gonna be a wild ride. I hope the outcome is positive, but I'm pessimistic by nature...

Carbs do do that, because they are 1. rapidly broken down into glucose, which 2. forces your insulin levels up to prevent glycation of your arteries, which 3. makes you fat, because insulin is a fat storage hormone and prevents you from burning body or dietary fat.

If you're exercising and working out a lot then you can fuel yourself with carbs, but carbs and sugar are so close to being the same thing that there is no point in trying to distinguish between them.

So get millions of people dependent on it as a protein source, even though many will become deathly allergic to it? I don't think it's intended for depopulation per se, more a facet of being in control of the food supply, by destroying the conventional means of supply.

Something like 'chitin' or something like that. Lemme search...

"Abstract Chitin, a potential allergy-promoting pathogen-associated molecular pattern (PAMP), is a linear polymer composed of N-acetylglucosamine residues which are linked by β-(1,4)-glycosidic bonds. Mammalians are potential hosts for chitin-containing protozoa, fungi, arthropods, and nematodes; however, mammalians themselves do not synthetize chitin and thus it is considered as a potential target for recognition by mammalian immune system. Chitin is sensed primarily in the lungs or gut where it activates a variety of innate (eosinophils, macrophages) and adaptive immune cells (IL-4/IL-13 expressing T helper type-2 lymphocytes). Chitin induces cytokine production, leukocyte recruitment, and alternative macrophage activation. Intranasal or intraperitoneal administration of chitin (varying in size, degree of acetylation and purity) to mice has been applied as a routine approach to investigate chitin’s priming effects on innate and adaptive immunity. Structural chitin present in microorganisms is actively degraded by host true chitinases, including acidic mammalian chitinases and chitotriosidase into smaller fragments that can be sensed by mammalian receptors such as FIBCD1, NKR-P1, and RegIIIc. Immune recognition of chitin also involves pattern recognition receptors, mainly via TLR-2 and Dectin-1, to activate immune cells to induce cytokine production and creation of an immune network that results in inflammatory and allergic responses. In this review, we will focus on various immunological aspects of the interaction between chitin and host immune system such as sensing, interactions with immune cells, chitinases as chitin degrading enzymes, and immunologic applications of chitin. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5680136/

If you want any Trump then you should feel sad about him going to that toxic wasteland:

"Dioxin’s Toxicity is Incomprehensible Peter Montague, author of Rachel’s Hazardous Waste News, summarizes the toxicity of dioxin in the historical articles below:

How can we express this in terms that people can grasp? Let's compare it to one single aspirin tablet. One aspirin tablet weighs 5 grains (or 325 milligrams, or 325 trillion femtograms), so to express one "safe" lifetime dose of 2,3,7,8-TCDD, you would take a single aspirin tablet and divide it into 32 million (actually 32,172,218) miniscule pieces. Then one of those tiny pieces would represent one "safe" lifetime dose of 2,3,7,8-TCDD."

That's the shit created when you burn the chemicals in those train cars.

"Dioxins and their first cousins furans are compounds created when chlorinated chemicals burn, explode or degrade. They are never made as a product; they are a contaminant and degradation product. They are directly related to PCBs, which are considered dioxin-like compounds."

If Trump wants to help those people he'd do better to say he wants to visit, but the science says it's not safe to do so. Going there for a photo-op just shows he is fucking clueless about the scale of the problem.

That's horrific.

You do know donated organs are from living people, right? And anesthetic is not used for many organs.

Look into this shit; it's a hideous secret that organ donors are paralyzed so they can't scream or move, then their organs cut out. Monitoring of blood pressure and pulse however show the same spike as anyone under such agony.

They're alive, awake and feeling it.

WHEN DID YOU FIGURE OUT THE COVID HOAX LIES by BISH in WorldNews

It's interesting to look back and think how, even as I was developing doubts, that I resisted that information. Was trying to convince a friend to take covid seriously, looked at the cruise ship situation and that somehow didn't have the effect on me it should have. Mmm...

WHEN DID YOU FIGURE OUT THE COVID HOAX LIES by BISH in WorldNews

[–]Bigs 12 insightful - 3 fun12 insightful - 2 fun13 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

When I searched for evidence that masks work, in order to convince a friend, and found plenty of evidence that they do not work for any virus, never had and never would. Worse, as I tried to share this information found those studies being systematically removed from the web.

That convinced me there was a PR push of some kind that had nothing to do with health. It was about theater, hysteria, control etc.

Then I researched previous corona vaccines, to see what might happen with the ones they were talking of developing. Read we never had a coronavirus vaccine before, because all previous attempts made the animal test subjects more likely to catch the disease and/or to suffer or die more from the disease.

Even back then, was reading how it was impossible to make an injection that would prevent a lung disease, because the lungs are effectively like an external organ. That any vaccine would only ever prevent severe disease but could not prevent infection and transmission. If little old me knew that before they were even developed, then I cannot for a moment believe that the governments and pharma companies didn't.

So the entire masking and injection thing was a farce from the very start, and they knew that.

Why thanks!

On a more serious note, your other posts suggest you're a sane and decent chap. I probably like you, so I shall try again.. I posted a link for someone else, which reflects my own view that Stew Peters and his weirdo cling-ons is either a total dofus or controlled opposition (or even both?).

He presented real and important stuff, while mixing it with tin-foil hat silliness and bullshit. I have to presume this was a deliberate attack to damage the credibility of the medical freedom movement (such controlled opposition is a very real thing, for both gov' and industry, esp. pharma).

The way all over Youtube and other places you'd see it mentioned, the name in ALL CAPS, and the way the mainstream media and some MSM pundits on twitter etc all slid into action pointing out how fake some parts were, helps confirm that "movie" was controlled op'.

Examples include all the conspiracy theory tropes at the start, such as Bigfoot and fake moon landing, then including people who died before the vaccine, people who collapsed but didn't die, plus a clot-extraction clip that had nothing to do with covid or embalmers. Indeed they must have licensed that footage and knew damn well what it was.

The very best you can say, is that Stew Peters and his team deliberately faked-up some bullshit to get the clicks and attention, sell water filters etc. I am way past accepting the "Oh we're just assholes, assholing" excuse. With hundreds of billions of dollars at stake, you can expect such fake shit.

That was fake shit. That is why I asked you to stop spreading it, because it hurts rather than helps us.
