CNN Panel Blames Trump for 'Culture Wars' by scrubking in politics

The culture war was happening before Trump was running for office. Not to glorify being a keyboard warrior, but I know because I've been a part of it since before then. Trump was just the outsider people could rally around to fight this shit. Trump himself barely understood it compared to anyone supporting him under the age of 35 back in 2016.

It's weird opening my browser and not habitually typing reddit.com now. I used that site for hours almost every day for the last 12 years. Even days I didn't, I still had some subs I'd check up on throughout the day on my phone. I just hope something like saidit can take off for topics not related to politics or the reddit purge. I don't mind talking about that stuff, but there're a lot of miscellaneous subjects I used reddit for, but they've upped their ban evasion tools to basically need at least a VPN to use it. At least I assume, since I was ban evading some subs for years with many accounts, and over the course of a week, every single account I've ever had, including ones I never posted from, or hadn't in years, got permanently suspended. Same with some people I know who I don't think even were ban evading.

I think this pandemic caused a lot of people to have enough immediate problems in their lives that they don't have the mental space to pay attention to celebrities, so they've just started to seem extra full of themselves. Also, younger people seem like they pay more attention to internet figures or niche music artists than your standard hollywood A-listers.

No doubt, there're click farms from all different entities in it driving propaganda and trying to radicalize young people, but the worst part is a few of the big obvious ones, Russia and China simply trying to create destabilization, and the democratic party trying to radicalize the youth, are using the same methods. Not saying democrats want destabilization, but if it gets them power, they will and have been doing it. Foreign entities just want to weaken the US.

There's nothing wrong with it, that's the point. It will rile up and expose leftists for what they are, anti white racists.
It's up there as a favorite of mine along with "Islam was right about women". That one does have some wrong things about it IMO, but leftists can't acknowledge it, without by their own rules being islamophobic. It makes them short circuit.

As someone who was in OP's boat about four years ago, just lose the damn labels. I went from progressive to liberal but not progressive to independent, to libertarian, back to independent.. I'll probably vote republican this year, but I wont call myself a republican because it comes with a whole lot of assumed stances I don't agree with. There isn't a label for what I am now, and at the end of the day, there's probably not a label for anyone who doesn't blindly align with a lot of views they haven't thought through because those topics weren't their priority.

It blows my mind people are still using reddit oblivious to it basically being a Chinese propaganda tool. Nearly every post on the front page has some anti american gov/culture agenda. It's run in part by a Chinese company, which like all Chinese tech companies, is basically an arm of the Chinese government.

You can go down the line with this one. I'm all for platforms giving people the boot for dropping N bombs and such, somebody farther to the right could claim my own "PCness" eventually turned on me.
But yeah, censorship has become a huge part of some feminist circles, but it seems to be more on the progressive feminist side, the ones who aren't really fighting for feminism, rather, the whole church of woke / intersectionalism whatever you'd call it.

Yah I noticed a ton of users from the actual feminist subs posting. Guessing a lot of the trolls or more hardcore right are more down with /pol/ etc than some of the other demos who got swept up in the purge. Either way, cool with me.

This isn't simply about feminism. There's a growing cult in the US and you're not part of it. But it would also make you a literal nazi in their minds, who, also in their minds, are the majority and hiding behind every street lamp and corner.
It's the same criteria it's been for a while, just being enforced at the most extreme they literally can now. Which basically the intersectional stack. All the stuff those whacky people who get called "alt right" or "nazi" all the time (who are mostly moderate liberals growing more conservative by the day) have been going on about for several years now.

Agreed. I'm against censorship overall, but in favor of censorhip/moderating based on the environment you want to create. If the front page is all conspiracy theories about jewish people, the site will never be more than a barely active extremist circle because normal people don't want to associate with it. Same with porn all over the place.
The problem with reddit is they present themselves as normal and open, but only moderating extreme stuff, but the reality is they aggressively moderate with a hard left bias.
Perhaps the answer is having minimal oversight on communities, but curating what is allowed on the front page? That's what reddit did years ago, and not doing so seems to be what caused voat to become antisemetic shock and outrage porn.

Been screaming this from the top of my lungs for five years now. The left have become the authoritarians in this country. If you look at your basic political compass, the x axis is left / right, the y axis is authoritarian / libertarian. You can have left or right authoritarians just like you can have left or right libertarians.

As for reddit, I'm right there with you. I spent over a decade on reddit, IRL meetups in multiple states included. The last two spent dodging censorship, evading bans, nuking accounts. At this point, looks like they're purging sane people from the site entirely.
GL. Mine was. They all are eventually, and given they just banned a huge amount of moderate/conservative users, don't expect that site to get less extreme.
