Yeah I just banned a guy for posting everything 7 times, even after me asking, even though the content was legit-ish... I see it as another form of infiltration because they're just diluting actual content in their desire to take over the front page, basically. They're not working with the community in an organic way to try and develop conversation. I can see the difference and I act on it if it's bad enough and they don't respond to messages about it.

There is no downvote button on this website, so we cannot downvote spam, that's the disadvantage of it.

But more importantly, the attackers cannot downvote real content like they can on reddit. That's the strength of saidit's design, your upvote is always counted and can't be counter-balanced by bots with 100 accounts downvoting stuff to censor it. Your upvote means a lot more on saidit than it does on reddit because it can't be destroyed by bad actors here.

They don't use any subset that we can figure out any pattern to, they rotate between an extremely vast range of IPs that aren't within just one VPN or country. I'd have to ban a good chunk of all IPs, and I'd be banning legitimate users too, which isn't good. And then they'd just change to a different IP range anyway

Cloudflare does the captcha at registration, and I'm not sure if we can change the captcha type without paying. Outside of cloudflare, adding a new layer of code to the site isn't really feasible these days unfortunately, without d3rr. I don't have the ability to add another layer to a codebase that's already way too complicated to manage. So we're kind of stuck with what we have.

Long covid exists, but also vaccine damage rebranded as long covid exists.

I never got a shot but had bad long covid for about 6 months, I basically slept for 6 months and would get faint at any physical activity. Started taking nattokinase and NAC (to help break down amyloid clots), and ivermectin a couple times. Plus zinc and quercetin (a zinc ionophore). I got 100% better over a period of weeks after months of illness.

The vaccine damage accelerates the clotting, it seems, because it creates smaller free spike proteins instead of spike proteins attached to the virus body. Also the body's cells create spikes indefinitely because of reverse-transcriptase transcoding the mRNA in to DNA permanently, so the spike proteins are produced as long as the cell lives. And because of the nano-lipids coating the mRNA, the mRNA could go past the blood-brain barrier and made its way in to the brain for some people... So as a result it appears likely that some people are experiencing worsening spike clotting in the blood vessels of their brains...

It seems all this is starting to come to light from scientific studies that should've been done before this was pushed on billions of people.

If you kept statistics of the IP addresses, you could send those to whatever government you have and if you could show that the networks themselves have been compromised, that would be a matter of national security.

They do not care about a site like saidit, get real. There's also a high likelihood they're supportive of the attacks anyway. Also the IPs don't fall in ranges, as I said. I've gathered long-term statistics about the IP grouping and there is no pattern!

We turned down the cloudflare settings (from 'under attack' down to 'medium') and the spam went from 100 posts a day to 100 an hour, so we have experimental evidence it is necessary. When we tried the experiment 3 months ago, there were numerous posts from users along the lines of "okay, we get why it's necessary now, please re-enable it".

The bots on saidit can spoof any IP address. They change IP addresses with every pageload request. They change usernames with every submission. It's very hard to stop in an automated way, which is of course their intention. I agree the problem is very out of control, and it makes cloudflare a necessity rather than an option. It's damaging free speech and damaging the town squares of the internet that real people are trying to use to genuinely communicate about important things.

I agree, the text forum is in a bad state compared to 20 years ago.

It is depressing knowing the golden window of the internet was so short. Saidit is an attempt to keep that window open just a bit longer.

But I also think there was a golden age for each new communcation technology. There was a golden age of the printing press, before propaganda books became common and overtook the early printed book market in the 1600-1700s. There was also a golden age of radio, golden age of tv (back when they actually showed vietnam on TV), golden age of internet.... there have been many communication golden ages, and I'm sure humanity will see one again soon. Maybe not in my lifetime, but it will likely come, given the historical pattern. So all is not lost. It comes in waves, and we just happened to ride a crest to a trough as we experienced the internet the last few decades. There will be other crests to climb in the future, we just have to be patient.

Yeah I think sneako and ed are very likely the same person, one disappeared right as the other arrived, and they do the exact same thing. Just more fake personas among hundreds of fake personas, but at this point it's not really fooling anyone. They use the exact same playbook of attack methods, and that always gives it away. :)

Agreed. As the shills and AI bots become more common, they simultaneously drive away real people, which just concentrates the awful even more.

Right now I think video is where it's at on the internet, that's not easy to fake at the moment compared to text. So that's a good way to get information from real people instead of spam/shills/ads etc. But that will probably only be true for another 5-10 years until video faking tech gets really good and is common and cheap. So enjoy the last bit of the real internet while we still have it, I say
