So you're claiming 3000 dead is a lie to make 400 dead Jews make sense? Geeze I've got to look into this more.

Also it's hard to follow your comments

When you quote your own words like this

If that's what's happening.

Yeah the real number is like 4k. I did see an interesting summary where 100 to 130 Jews were expected to die at WTC, but only 1 did. I didn't take the time to verify it but it was interesting. I think they were guessing at who was Jewish by last names on the victim list.

Should the "funny" vote be called the "fun" vote? by magnora7 in AskSaidIt

Agreed, lower standards encourages more participation. It sounds like we might go for the switch and have Interesting and Fun as the two positive vote dimensions.

Do you consider the Dancing Israelis getting arrested or Mossad living 100 yards away from some of the hijackers in Florida to be something resembling decent evidence of Israeli involvement in 9/11?

I'm in too. So that would be changing "insightful and funny" to "interesting and fun". Shall we pull the trigger and put it on the todo list?

Yeah removed by mods stuff. I think this is ceddit, just not with that domain name. It's all the same dude, and also the same dude that has pushshift that entire public Reddit backup.

If Einstein is considered extraordinary, could anyone become extraordinary under ideal conditions?

No.

When you say some things are complex and others aren't, it's that compared to the average Joe or compared to your comprehension skills?

In comparison to the average Joe. I think. You're right I'm probably too biased to even look at this correctly. I am pretty technically proficient and trying to be moreso.

Isn't this the same as my argument that "insightful" should be "interesting"? If the votes are for above average insightfulness or funniness, and to reward especially good comments or posts, then it should stay "funny".

If funny gets watered down and generalized, then insightful should too.

11:37 I tracked down the supposed "obama with hijackers" photo, I see no evidence that they are hijackers. It would be fun to search their faces and try to get identities but I don't know how to do that shit.

several physicists were working on the same principles

Yeah, I think some Italian beat him to it and published by 2 or 3 years even.

I'd say no, but I can learn, but only to a certain extent. Certainly not to an Einstein extent, but you and I and most people with an ideal environment could learn geometry and trig well enough to teach it at a college or high school or something. A working level math education.

Maybe math isn't the best example, but that's part of my point here too, we were talking about how to install some software. It's not AI programming or climate change model engineering and it doesn't involve math or science at all. Sometimes it's just about having the experience and things look complicated from the outside.

having a grasp on complex matters is just a matter of learning a trade craft?

I guess my argument is that it's not a complex matter. There are complex things going on in tech, so my broad generalization there isn't all that accurate. I guess I think there's been an irrational worship of all things and people in tech with the internet boom that rubs me wrong sometimes.

What about the people flunking trade craft educations?

I imagine that the vast majority had lots of factors stacked against them and chaos in their lives rather than they studied adequately and still failed to grasp the material and get in. But I do accept that some people are too dumb to do certain things.

Nah, I'm trying to say that me having a grasp on it doesn't make me smarter than OP. It's just a trade skill, not wisdom or general intelligence.

I'd like a default switch to change to be notified about all conversations I've participated on.

Duuude bravo, that's totally a missing reddit feature. So I guess this means if you are person A and person B replies to you, and then person C replies to person B, you want a notificiation? Aka all comments that are a child of your comment should notify you if you opt-in to it.

I like one up from the bottom right, and 3 up from the bottom right, I guess the boring less styled ones. And the one magnora likes.

What if having this stuff legal and public leads to a decrease in crimes against kids? The ethics and legality of minors donating are beyond me, but for young adults this also provides a way to earn some money. The libertarian in me says yes even though the rest of me thinks creepy and weird.
