Yeah not notable is insane, that's as subjective as they come, and it costs like a penny a year to have an extra page.

I have to come clean man. When I said "offshore" I didn't mean in international waters... I just meant outside of the US. The one I thought looked cool is in the Netherlands. I should have said something but it was like 3am so I flaked. My bad.

I think Sealand did used to offer hosting though. Also I think the only real advantage of not-in-US hosting for SaidIt is to escape DMCA notices.

We made some search improvements too. Links no longer show up as subs and vice versa. Also sub search on /subs finds more as it no longer uses exact matching.

Maybe the kids have never really seen capitalism at work because everything is so manipulated by corporatists and crony capitalism. They grew up post-US-manufacturing.

The truth behind America’s most famous gay-hate murder, Matthew Shepard by d3rr in whatever

[–]d3rr[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

This might be an uncomfortable story but it looks very much like the murder of Matthew Shepard was not homophobic and was not a hate crime. One or both of the murderers was gay themselves and had had a relationship with Matt. Matt was also a crystal meth dealer and in a dark place and clearly had terrible friends.

I was in high school when this happened and it definitely had some kind of impact on me and I never once doubted that it was not a hate crime. Of course there are homophobic hate crimes, but not this one, not the biggest and most famous one.

Fucking media god damnit.

Tough one and I'm not really in the loop. I have heard positive privacy things about Switzerland a lot, but yeah it also seems to be the home of the uber-elite. Can you link or PM me to the hosting companies you are considering? It looks like DMCA policy might differ by company.

Noam Chomsky calling out Christian Zionism in the US as the main reason the US supports Israel by magnora7 in WorldPolitics

[–]d3rr 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Christian Zionsim is a very powerful force which goes back long before Jewish Zionism, in England particularly.

How can Christian Zionism be older than Jewish Zionism? I thought Jews invented Zionism in 1850 or so. Surely these "British Christian Zionists" were working with and inspired by Jewish Zionists. Also some of these British elites like the Rothschilds were Jewish but he seems to be implying they were all Christian.

I did enjoy and learn from other parts of this video though.

The blind Force of the people is a Force that must be economized, and also managed, as the blind Force of steam, lifting the ponderous iron arms and turning the large wheels, is made to bore and rifle the cannon and to weave the most delicate lace. It must be regulated by Intellect.

The rough Ashlar is the PEOPLE, as a mass, rude and unorganized. The perfect Ashlar, or cubical stone, symbol of perfection, is the STATE, the rulers deriving their powers from the con-sent of the governed…

I hope Pike doesn't get wind chill way up there on his high horse
