Maybe your previous job paid a lot so your current employer started you at the top of the scale. There's nothing more capitalistic than small business. Independent contractors are small businesses. This voluntary, government free movement would convert billions of employees into independent contractors, the most free workers in the economy.

There will never be libertarian government until there is universal self employment. Employees will always want the government to fight their battles with their employer for them because if they do it themselves they'll get fired.
