We've gone from 12 to 15 posters!

I got banned on reddit recently simply for linking saidit. I'll drop the link on there whenever I come across someone who seems half-way intelligent and is commenting about how broken and stupid people are over there.

It does seem so, doesn't it?

Nonetheless, there must be some hesitancy even towards saidit.
This is partly due to a certain lack of transparency about who owns/controls it.
Let's not forget that privatizing digital town squares
was done to bypass actual freedom of speech.

Eventually, a non-privately/corporately owned platform,
a publicly-owned platform, really analogous to a town square,
has to eventually be created,
where, by law and to the extent allowed by law,
e.g. freedom of speech, is implemented.

Sincere political views by actual people must be protected,
and only taken away if someone is caught shilling, spamming, advertising,
and/or committing other forms of lying for pay.

I'm seeing reduced activity, compared with activity across the past 3 years. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Nonetheless, there must be some hesitancy even towards saidit.

Yep

This is partly due to a certain lack of transparency about who owns/controls it.

We know who owns it, where he lives, his views on conspiracies, and his other views.

I know nothing about it.

Eventually, a non-privately/corporately owned platform, a publicly-owned platform, really analogous to a town square, has to eventually be created, where, by law and to the extent allowed by law, e.g. freedom of speech, is implemented.

I doubt that's possible.

Sincere political views by actual people must be protected,

Agreed

and only taken away if someone is caught shilling, spamming, advertising,

New mods are deleting some of this stuff, which is great.

and/or committing other forms of lying for pay.

Not sure we can spot all of it.

Still as dead as ever, takes like a day for anyone to reply. That's fine tho just won't replace Reddit

[–]PsychoTranyRedditMod 3 insightful - 3 fun3 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

Nothing will replace the hole that bot spam, astroturfing, and homo/tranny politics fills.

At least I can be pleasantly surprised when I have a random interaction in my daily life, and reminded that most people aren't completely unhinged losers.

[–]RedditButt 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

Half the time I reply to something, I get a 403 error, and I just say screw it. It would be nice if that got fixed.

[–]Musky 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

That's because the Cloudflare verification expired. Refresh a different saidit tab for verification and you can submit your reply without the 403.

[–]RedditButt 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

I end up copying the comment, refreshing the page and pasting it, but it happens so often, it gets really annoying.

[–]Musky 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

That's what I did before I started refreshing a different page. It saves a little time but yeah, CF is annoying as hell.

There's too many shitty people here for it to replace Reddit (ironically enough.) It'll never appeal to mainstream normies with as many dumbfuck Daily Stormer retards here. But that's just fine; Saidit shouldn't become popular, because the minute it does, it's over.

[–]WoodyWoodPecker 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Eddie Spaghetti and his bot spam. Indian Street Shitter Spam.

[–]monkeymagic 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

the cloudfare bullshit will drive all but a few away.

[–]EddieC 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Let's do something about it?

[–]Jiminy 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Can't do any of that unless in charge of the site and I don't mean magnora

[–]EddieC 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

They flood forums with do-nothing, chatter bots

[–]CheeseWizard 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Nah, we're just getting more autistic. When they are bored, the same few people come to rant, and most of the activity is niche. We have no memes nor cute kittens. The moment we have, though, that may attract brain dead Redditors, TwitterXettes, Tumblrtards, and other stupid people.

I got banned from reddit for supporting shooting invaders. Note I was talking about shooting invaders to the US. Had I been talking about invaders to Ukraine, I would be hero! Anyway, since I was banned I've been posting here more often.

[–]Canbot 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

It is definitely very popular with JIDF and other spammers.
