A great read on the topic of treating trauma correctly is "The Body Keeps The Score" by Bessel van der Kolk. Bessel is a psychiatrist who is a pioneer in the research for PTSD and Complex PTSD. In his book he outlines why CBT, talk therapy, and exposure therapy, as well as long term drug cocktails, are all horrible treatments for trauma, and he discusses the systemic failure caused mainly by the corrupt pharmaceutical corporations, to properly treat trauma victims. Bessel advocates for therapies such as EMDR, IFS, and somatic therapies, as well as guided yoga and meditation, to treat post traumatic stress

"Yes, theoretically good therapy could exist that theoretically could help some people, but this is about CBT/DBT."

This about sums it up. Good luck finding an actual therapist who is actually invested in trying to help you. Hint, you don't find them in our price range.
