Just came over from Reddit

I'm done over there. If they actually go through with this censorhip thing and ban everything then I'm deleting my account and fully switching to SaidIt. New to SaidIt. So...how does this work? A lot is similar, but there's a ton of new stuff. Why am I automatically subbed to everything? And, how can I create my own subreddits?

Also, how does karma work here. Thanks!

Welcome! If you don't wanna be subbed to everything, you can go to preferences and choose to unsub from it all. You are originally subscribed to all the subs so that you can go through things you like and don't like and decide with whether you wanna stay subscribed or not. I guess it's a better way of finding new subs all the time. You will be able to create your own subreddits after two weeks from your account's creation, this is to prevent spam. The button will appear below the submit link buttons when it is unlocked. As for karma, the upvote and downvote has gone and is instead replaced with 'funny' and 'interesting' instead. I think this is used to stop people from downvoting things just because they don't like it, which was a problem with Reddit. This way, you can sort posts and comments by "funny" and "interesting". It is reccomended you use the debate pyramid when debating or discussing with someone too. The only thing different here is the no-pornography rule and discussing of illegal vendors I believe, though Gore is allowed.

Ohhhh, ok. So basically there's no "karma" in a sense, it's just funny and interesting. I like that. So there's really no "downvote" in a sense. That's a cool feature
