In addition to everything else people have mentioned, saidit is 2.5 years old, and ruqqus is about 6 months old

Ruqqus might turn into Voat but SaidIt never will. And Ruqqus has more purple but no API.

I do like the "insightful" vs "fun" upvotes here. Ruqqus also doesn't seem to work too well, sadly.

At first glance ruqqus seemed like voat - lite. Gods promised land for reddit deplorables. I like them both so far

The influx of users that have taken Ruqqus down seem to be largely AHS / SJW types and they are doing two things, trying to overload / ddos the site, and then you will see them start whinging whining and reporting everything to the law.

Saidit has a logout button, Ruqqus doesn't... ? :P

UPDATE: Ok, there is a logout button, I have to enable some 3rd party javascript to access it... WTF.

I tried ruqqus last week, it never worked. I managed to make an account, but I couldn't access the site after that. And it was before the big reddit ban.

On ruqqus you can't remove content, but you can kick it out of a moderated space back to a general area for all content.

Their servers are just too slow. It brings me flashbacks to the dialup days, 10 seconds for every action to process. I have no idea how people use it. But they also allow embedding images in comments a la 4chan which is pretty cool and opens up a lot of possibilities.

I personally don't like the Ruqqus layout as much as saidit's, it reminds me too much of the Reddit redesign which is a complete eyesore. Ruqqus is also frequently down.

Saidit has better rules (ruqqus has none lol), almost perfect but ruqqus is so much better when it comes to ux

I've been perusing both, but I think the layout for Saidit wins for me.
