It did 10 years ago, what you see is far from authentic. What you see is a product of jewish subversion. What you see is echoed in virtually every product and service of current year.

Ten years ago it was mainly a echo chamber too. I was on sodahead a decade ago, and it was an echo chamber. I've seen posts from the early teens that have the same hivemind thought they do now on many websites, including reddit and twitter. Since the world is more populated, there's an even bigger echo chamber on those sites, mainly bots and shills.

I still care because I'm addicted but since most of my favorite subreddits are getting banned reddit moderation sucking completely

Why would it die now? It is being pumped with dirty money and propped up by operatives. Anyone who has been there a decade ago would see how different it is now. It felt like yesterday when it changed overnight. none of it is organic.

I don’t really have comparison. Certain subs are clearly dying, others are active as before, some were always more niche... But in case more subs would be taken by something causing controversy, like woke stuff (in case the sub topic is not directly linked to it), that would be certainly bad. And there are people who already left or limited their activity. It all depends on people and how many of them are away what’s actually going on with Reddit.
