(Poll) Straight men out there: Would you want to be in a committed relationship with the right woman assuming she existed out there, or are you better off being single and alone for life?

Assume you only have two options and two options ONLY:

OPTION ONE. Be in a decent, normal, healthy relationship with a decent woman out there. Let's say she's at least a 7 or 7.5 in looks ("cute" at least) and a 9 in personality. She's someone you could be happy with, but the downside is, she's kind of boring and predictable. No talks of marriage yet, so you don't have to worry about that for right now.

OPTION TWO. Be single and ALONE for the unforeseeable future. This includes absolutely no sex. Not even any physical contact with women.

So if you had your pick, which one would you go for?

  1. With a pretty good woman, but it's a serious committed relationship.
  2. Forever alone and sex-less, but also free.

This question is for straight men only. No gay guys (I've already run across quite a few on here) or women please (not that there's any on this site.)

For the majority of my youth up to my early 20's I was either single or in short term, non-committed and unfulfilling relationships. I have now been in what I can only describe as the perfect relationship with the perfect woman for nearly 10 years, and recently got married.

Having now lived both of your examples, the second to some degree, the answer is obvious. With a great woman in a serious relationship, which is exactly what I have and am grateful for.

I get plenty of sex when I'm single but I do enjoy being in a committed relationship with a cool woman. People change and sometimes relationships that start out good get to a point where you both just want different things and need to move on.

Why would you want to be alone?

  1. The risks outweigh the benefits.
  2. No good single women left (no, single mothers don't count unless they're widows.)
  3. I'm not into OF whores, trannies, feminists, or lesbians (see point #2.)
  4. Most women are boring AF and can't keep my interest (I'd say "most people" but not into dudes, so they're irrelevant.)
  5. I'm not a simp, so I'm not going to be with a woman I have to be a pay-pig for, all in the name of supposed "traditionalism."
  6. More than 50% of marriages now end in divorce. And Kanye, the man who literally wrote a song screaming "We Want Prenup!" learned that the hard way.
  7. I like my freedom.
  8. I like my disposable income and having $12,000 saved in the bank to do whatever with.
  9. I don't want kids (I have shitty genetics and don't want to pass that on to anyone else, but in an ideal situation with a 'unicorn,' I'd adopt a Korean baby girl or something.)
  10. Marriage, and raising a family, is expensive.
  11. This world is full of idiots and bringing a child into it right now is risky AF.
  12. This world is full of groomers, pedophiles, and child rapists who use the shield of "LGBT marginalized status" to get away with their crimes and brainwashing children of the gay-trans agenda through public education, so bringing a child into it right now is downright insane. (I'm a teacher, so I know how fucked some of these people are and how fucked the system is, but I don't teach American kids anymore.)

No one WANTS to be alone. As a former hopeless romantic, I'd definitely treat the right woman for me like she's the most valuable thing in my life besides my own fulfillment. But finding a good woman nowadays is like finding an actual heterosexual American woman nowadays; they just doesn't exist anymore. It's better to be alone than in a relationship prison doing a life sentence with someone you hate who's the mother of your children. Either way, you're better off getting a dog or making some more same-sex friends than dating nowadays just out of "loneliness."

You should love yourself and find pursuits that bring you joy. But we are not self contained. If you enjoy your own company, dating becomes more fun, because there’s much less at stake- if things work out, you get laid and maybe even fall in love. If not, you go back to coding or nature hikes or whatever, and see if you can find someone better.

I have been married for over 10 years. We fight sometimes. She knows me better than anyone else and is still hot. I love our little family.

Of course there's that. But I'm talking merely legal terms. A woman can really fuck up a man legally if she wants. And in the end he has no say if she will have his children or not, a woman can rape him by lying about contraception and end up having a baby where the law says the man has no say wether she aborts before the 4 weeks or leaves to adoption if it's born.

Why does being single always have to be associated with being alone? I can say from personal experience i've been single for several years and NEVER alone. If you have the self determination to drag your ass to the gym and stay somewhat fit women seem to be acquired easier and easier the older i get. Don't ever let anyone convince you to settle gents.
