Gun for survival: Shotgun or Rifle

Which would you choose to patrol the streets to survive?

Streets? Rifle.

House? Shotgun all day no question.

They make inserts so you can shoot any caliber from a shotgun as well. You can also just reload the shells with rocks if you had to unlike a rifle, but I would def carry a rifle if I had one.

whatever you can find ammo for cheaper/ whatever ammo you can home produce easier.

Its not really useful if you have to sparingly use the weapon. Id rather worry about the long term use cases. For my case a shotgun as its easy to procure and produce ammo for it with a simple press.

This is why I would carry a shotgun as my main gun as I can reload the shells with about anything and in a disaster whatever ammo I find I can shoot with a collection of these inserts. https://chaszel.com/product-category/shotgun-adapters/
