I'd rather wait to post than navigate hundreds of spam posts. Makes me question your intentions.

I'm with ya. It's worth the wait. Maybe they could reduce the wait time if it becomes an issue. I've personally never had a problem with it.

Maybe a Karma tipping point on the account? Had similar to combat spam bots and new user accounts over in Eddit.

That's basically exactly what we have in place right now. There is basically no rate limiting on high-karma accounts.

I guess we can turn down the rate limiting on new accounts though, it seems a bit too tight

Figured as much tbh, but new user so couldn't say definitively if it was the case.

I hate text, but if I'm going to be forced to use it, I'd like to be able to take on 10 idiots who think the earth is flat at the same time rather than wait minutes between posts which defeats the purpose of the internet.

Speed. Fast. Talk. YEAH! NOT grandpa slow. NO!

I've been online since 1995. The only intention I have is to not be slowed down by DUMB, limiting websites.

Is there an internet seniority benefit out there that I'm unaware of???

Ok, I can see your point! You have to consider that if there wasn't a restriction the site would likey be flooded by bots. It would be unusable.

If it works the same as reddit, then it'll only get worse. I don't care about karma at all and it means nothing. I'm an abrasive person and I'm not changing my personality for points on a website.

I'm going to be myself and if a website is going to tell me to change my personality or talk less, that website can sit on my cock and rotate.

The more trusted your user account becomes by getting voted on, the less the time limits will affect you. Perhaps we could loosen it a bit though.

Like other people pointed out, without this, someone not associated with the site could very easily flood the site with nonsense overnight, especially if they had an automated script.

But that said, I think it is maybe a bit too stringent. We'll look in to loosening it a bit for new users.

Hasn't Reddit had this exact same feature for years?

Also, wrong sub. Don't make this into Reddit 2.0.

You must've never tried to post against the narrative in /r/politics

Reddit has the same thing though.

I said it DIDN'T used to have it. When Digg fell and everyone went to reddit, there wasn't a limitation. I NEVER saw that dumb message.
