In the beginning, I was for Cruz, because I thought he was a true conservative. As the debates unfolded, Trump quickly got my vote because of his unwillingness to bend in the face of pressure.

When the "Grab em by the pussy" video came out and his response was "I said what I said", and immediately counter attacked the Clinton's for their previous abuse of women, I knew then, this is the the fucking guy this country has needed for a LONG LONG time!

Needed for what?
I agree we need to "drain the swamp" in D.C., but you're gullible to think Trump wouldn't just look after his own best interests, and now the D.C. swamp is crawling with even more slimy rich filth.

You may be right. He did shut down the TPP.

Also, I voted Jill Stein.

I don't buy the climate change hoax though.

I keep thinking that Trump would flame out in the primaries, but he didn't. So in the general election I felt like I had to choose between an absolutely horrible candidate and the other candidate that was somehow even worse. So I reluctantly pulled the lever for Trump. I don't regret that decision and over the years I have actually started to like him.

Most people got conned by a con man. It's hilarious!
Do people really think anything has changed or its just more of the same of what it's been for decades??

I don't think that's actually the case.

They elected the one who could smash the system.

That might be what they thought they were getting. The reality is he is essentially a mirror image of Bill Clinton policies, down to his immigration, tariff and social policies..

It seems extreme because the ones who called themselves democrats are essentially socialists/communists now. When was the last time you heard any of these republicans speak of more limited government.. Trillion dollar infrastructure program anyone, proposed by the "conservatives". Required and enforced maternal and paternal leave, proposed by Mike Lee..

Meanwhile the Dems are ensuring that everyone should have the right to kill their kids or have a sex change at the expense of the taxpayer..

Who's lost in this is anyone who is an actual conservative or libertarian. Problems such as immigration... neither side wants to fix. Democrats want to expand their voting base, republicans want cheap labor for their corporate sponsors. Open up the border for all immigration and end welfare assistance for anyone who is not a citizen or who is an immigrant here..

I agree with much of your argument.

The reality is he is essentially a mirror image of Bill Clinton policies, down to his immigration, tariff and social policies..

I disagree with some of this. Trump cancelled the TPP, and attempted to cancel/revise NAFTA. He also increased tariffs.
All positive developments.

It seems extreme because the ones who called themselves democrats are essentially socialists/communists now.

Also, disagree here. The Democrats after corporatists, and they serve the corporate oligarchs. That's the literal opposite of socialist.
If Eisenhower was president today, then some would call him a radical socialist. He wasn't in the least.

What has happened is that the US public has radically moved to the extreme right; relative to the rest of the world.
