CDC: Antibody tests show virus rates 10 times higher than reported

Maybe I don't understand the article, but I don't see how this isn't good news. If 10x more people have had it than thought, that should mean it's not as deadly or as serious as every one is making it out to be. They claim this shows that herd immunity won't work. But if the majority of people who get it arent even sick enough to realize they have it, why is it being treated so seriously?

so more people have the anti-bodies which should mean more people are surviving it?

It's because the antibody test tests for all conronaviruses, not just Covid.

A positive test result shows you may have antibodies from an infection with the virus that causes COVID-19. However, there is a chance a positive result means that you have antibodies from an infection with a virus from the same family of viruses (called coronaviruses), such as the one that causes the common cold.
