You got 70 views on a video of a game no one plays on a platform few people use? Thats incredible!!
As a YouTube partner from 2008 I can assure you that you are doing something right. I dont know what it is, but its definitely the right direction!

I definitely had a "strategy" independent of discoverability algorithms.

The numbers sound real small compared to YouTube videos easily hitting the thousands of views. But I'm proud of them as I don't have a following on Twitter, Twitch, YouTube to carry over from.

What's PeerTube? How come the site is called hardlimit? This interests me...

PeerTube is a federated video hosting platform. It is also software. What happens is that some admin downloads it and deploys it on their server. So there are a bunch of different peertube instances with different domain names.

Yeah basically. It is more for servers not personal computers however.
