While Linus brings up valid criticisms of the Steam Deck and it's UI, he also highlights some of the potential of this device and what it's capable of. I think steam will fix most of the gripes he has and continue to support the Deck for a long time, so I'll be going ahead with my preorder. It really seems like a device that's easy to mod and tinker with unlike most other consoles or handheld gaming devices.

Same here. From what I've read of the reviews, there are teething issues that will be fixed through patching. The only thing that'd turn me away right now would be a fundamental hardware issue or a bait and switch.
