Paging Marlo Thomas. "Free to be You and Me" is all about shedding gender stereotypes. William's Doll, It's Alright to Cry, When We Grow Up... children need support and encouragement to be who they are.

That was my both of daughter’s favorite book and video tape when they were small.

Crickets from everyone that should be speaking up. I guess when they see what has happened to J.K., they say hell no.

Can you really blame them?

In the woke framing of things, "silence is violence" so maybe she's still on the good side. I agree her voice would be an important one to add to the conversation.

Ms. Blume said she recently sold a copy of “And Tango Makes Three,” the 2005 book by Justin Richardson and Peter Parnell about two male penguins who hatch an egg and raise the baby together (you’ll find it on the list of challenged picture books) to a man who had just adopted a little girl with his male partner. “That’s my new thrill as a bookseller,” she said, “to put that right book into the hands of someone who appreciates what it’s saying.”

I agree Blume and so many others should have spoken out by now. It seems to often work that way: those who you would think.... are never heard from on an issue. There’s so many silent voices on transgender, esp in the U.S.

I'm not too sure many people are aware of just what's happening.

I'll be honest, I thought she was dead. But yeah it would be great if she chimed in!
