Interesting!! Yes it's way more than a half a degree, and is exhausting. I'm definitely intrigued by the fact it could be inflammatory related like the first abstract says. I'll see if the doctor is open tomorrow to run blood work on that! Thank you! 🙌

Eep, you might get into urgent care where they can run a CBC and maybe a few other tests. To be honest, an urgent care facility was where I went when I was having health problems years back and they were really easy to talk to and get testing done with. Easier than the gyn office. I'll wish you luck.

Are you having pain with it as well or urinary frequency? Make sure you mention EVERYTHING to them.

Hmm now that you mention it maybe a little? But I stay pretty hydrated. I just feel awful tonight, horribly run down and my girlfriend says I'm just way hotter than even normal. I have a great PCP who is also an urgent care but at PCP rates! They can check everything out. Hope they are open.

I'm not a mod just a casual user but personally I welcome this kind of post. We should be spending more of our time on women focused issues.

I used to get a "period flu" the days leading up to my period. Was indistinguishable from any other mild virus. I didn't check temperature or feel feverish usually just tired and run down, light headed, that kind of thing.

Never had that issue but saidit now has a PCos sub so perhaps someone there could help https://saidit.net/s/PCOS/

I'm pretty athletic/ small so I'm not sure that I have that. Also my periods are regular. But I'll check it out, thanks!!

My sister is slim, petite and quite healthy and has PCOS. Google 'lean PCOS' to see more about that. Although her periods are very irregular.

Thanks I didn't know that!

Sometimes. I’d sometimes actually get sick a day or two after I get my period, as in fever chills, cough fatigue. It doesn’t happen all the time.

Yes, I do (not for a full week though but sometimes for up to 3 days or so). I have PCOS and pretty severe endometriosis, which may have something to do with it. I would try to find a gyno or doctor and go over any other unusual symptoms you may have, as it may be something like endo.

Yeah, you should see a doctor about this and get some tests done. There may be temperature variations during the cycle but you shouldn't be running a fever, then it's something else.

My advice to you is to get this checked out with an actual doctor. It could be any number of things, or just the way your bod works.

Do you know what your average body temperature is? 98.6 is only an average and not a particularly accurate one. The original study about it was flawed. Some people naturally "run hot" or "run cold." Also, a woman's body temperature naturally spikes during ovulation leading up to her period.

It's mainly talked about for trying to conceive, but daily tracking of basal body temperature (your temperature before you get out of bed) is very useful for women to understand their menstrual cycles.

I always had the feeling I tend to run a little cold and tracking my temperature confirms it. My average temperature is closer to 97 degrees than 98 degrees. Knowing this, I know to be more concerned than most if my temperature goes above 98 degrees, because that's a higher fever than would be expected if you're assuming 98.6 as an average.

There could be something else going on, but if your temperature tends to average a little high, a temperature of about a hundred is still concerning but a higher average temperature would mean it's a less severe fever than you think. It's definitely still concerning if it's a sustained high temperature and if there are other symptoms. I think normal variation throughout the cycle should be talked about a lot more though so I took the opportunity.

It ranges from 98.1 to apparently 100 lol.

Can relate! I get a low fever (99.5-100.0) and sore throat and flu like symptoms every month in the days before my period. After a few days into my period I feel good again. I have PCOS, endo, fibroids, and hashimoto's (and some other health probs). Basically a crazy body. I've never discussed it with a dr, figure since it happens like clockwork it's my cycle and there isn't much they can do.
