All I know is r/detrans got harassed big time for awhile now. And the "trans" folk claiming it was just a bunch of terfs trying to make them look bad. Because you know, literally no one detranses or desists. I'm just happy it's back up for the ones who need that safe space.

As for your second question, it is not something I can speak of publicly. What I will say is the decision was made because of hostile forces involving reddit users from another community. I wish we could be transparent about her removal but that is mostly what I can specify. The moderation team was not happy about having to relinquish her of her position.

I hope everything is archived somewhere safely so that when the eventual ban happens you are all set to go.

I spent a lot of time writing to every possible address to complain when the r/detrans was initially banned and so did many other people. When the ban was reversed, it was explained as an accidental ban but that is unlikely to be true. The site is one the most fervent trans activists desperately want to be gone. So don't have all the eggs in one basket.

Why do they speak about it so formally and seriously? Cringe

Because they have to. TRAs speak with hyped-up emotion and untethered rage. Often, the best response is to keep your cool.

It's normal to walk on eggshells when dealing with folks with undiagnosed personality disorders.

I searched on twitter and found this:

Due to recent events, I have chosen to have my position as a moderator of r/detrans relinquished after discussion with the team for the future and safety of detransitioners using that space. I refuse to let them take down the sub because of me.

This was not an easy decision to make but I made it because I know they planned on filing an in-depth report on how corrupt moderation of r/detrans was based on stalking and outside sources. So I've given up my position to protect the subreddit.

Ended up discovering that I was being stalked on discord and they were putting together a report to claim moderation on r/detrans was corrupt. As a result it was decided that I step down so the subreddit isn't taken down because of me and rants that were taken out of context.

Today a moderator of r/detrans responded to my question if I'd be permitted to post my story. Needless to say, I feel in that same place of complete hatred and disdain for a group I was in when this all first happened. I proposed stepping down myself for the safety of the sub.

The moderator in question told me that since the subreddit has gone the self-censorship route I am no longer welcome on the subreddit. I was told specifically that since I am a documented transphobe, they could be accused of harboring and giving hate a platform.

As a result if I post there, whatever I post will be left so long as it follows subreddit policy since I myself am detrans but I will be permanently banned. I really hope this sacrifice was for the good in the end because you have no idea how much this hurts.

They claim to be so oppressed and so powerless against "hate" yet they control the narrative through fear and manipulation. My own friends have to basically abandon me to keep the support group we helped with the original purpose it was. I -hate- the trans movement.

This is so infuriating. I hope that they set up a secondary site and slowly migrate off of reddit. The way the TRAs are silencing all opposition is fucked up.

I'm not sure, but I do think it's a good idea to restrict it to detrans people. Much like how BPT restricts to black/brown people, and how all the women centered subreddits are awful because they allow men. Almost by definition a vulnerable community will be overrun by outsiders if they don't take such measures to protect their community.
