As always, people KNOW. The first comment on r/Denmark: "Jeg forudser, en masse søgsmål imod staten om ca 20 år." (I predict a lot of lawsuits against the state in 20 years time).

UGH. I feel you. Coming from a Nordic country myself I'm just fearfully waiting until this actually happens in my home nation as well. What is the overall feeling about this whole thing in Denmark though? Do the so-called normal people go "yeah cool" or are they willing to have discussions? Do they want to get into the topic or is it the usual "oh it has been decided, one must not question the Correct Opinion"?

Extremely curious because I have some extended family living there.

No, sorry. I don't know. It is so new here in Denmark. These ideas slowly dribble down from universities into the wider population. I don't have a television, Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. You might be thinking, well hold on, am I talking to a fucking caveman? Yes, maybe. I hate social media. What's kinda scary is that someone like me can pick up on these trends

Well, same here. The regular folks don't give two toots about this gender-nonsense - the more horrifying aspect is that big lobbyists are pushing things through our governments and what the fuck are we supposed to do about that?! Everybody has a price, right? Especially egotistical politicians. :/ (And yeah I know it sounds like I wrapped my entire body in tin foil but... lobbying is real, it makes money, money makes policies, policies make money - you get the drill.)

Good thing about Finland is that we actually recently made it mandatory for teens to have proper screenings for e.g. mental illnesses before they would even be admitted to any "gender" clinics. So YAY I guess! At least someone lifted their judgmental eyebrow and went "NOPE, not this time, you greedy pharmaboys."

Vitunrotta: Thank you for writing back. When you mentioned the "pharmaboys" I thought about cost. How much does it cost for a trans person to keep going on hormone pills. I have no idea. Maybe some clever person can figure out the average? I don't even know what Sex reassignment surgery might be.

I've no idea either, to be honest - at this stage it honestly seems like kids and teens (and in certain cases mentally challenged/disturbed adults) are being used as some horrible guinea pigs for a sort of "miraculous" sex-change-medication instead of getting them to therapy, for example.

I've seen way too many documentaries and read way too many in-depth stories & reports about the companies and/or families who run these massive pharmaceutical companies to have zero doubts that they just wanna get the mon€€€y. At any cost. (This is about the infamous Sackler family & opioids and it's a long read but well worth your time, whenever you have some to spare)!

Now look at the opioid crisis in the U.S. - how it was initially marketed (and targeted) and then look at the horrible aftermath. I have a strange feeling that big pharma, the ultra rich and the very gullible are a HORRIBLE combination... (Who knew?!!) /s

And the only ones to come alive and live happily ever after are not the so called "gullible" - ever.
I fear something similar will happen with this mad push of hormone blockers etc. :(

Edit: grammar

Absolutely vile. I'm in Sweden, and I honestly have no idea if this is happening here or not. It wouldn't surprise me one bit though. We are transing young people, but I'm not sure if they are that young.

We did have a good documentary on the transing of young girls though, 'The trans train', which made people talk about it, but I don't think anything really changed.

My understanding is that recently Sweden has put the brakes on the "trans train" after a two part Swedish TV documentary of that title was aired in 2019 - and after scathing Swedish TV reports more recently in 2020 showed that officials in the Swedish government had proposed relaxing the laws on young people transitioning based on false information provided by trans activists.

Some reports about Swedish government policy changes re transing of young people in 2020 from various sources, none of which I necessarily endorse: https://www.theguardian.com/society/2020/feb/22/ssweden-teenage-transgender-row-dysphoria-diagnoses-soar https://sputniknews.com/europe/202005131079288587-swedish-regulator-says-no-to-irreversible-gender-reassignment-surgery-for-teens-amid-increase/ https://www.pinknews.co.uk/2020/02/24/anti-trans-sweden-healthcare-puberty-blockers-gender-dysphoria-malou-von-sivers/

Thank you very much for posting the Trans Train documentary.

The Clinical Assessor saying that these are the same medicaments used for chemical castration ...holy crap. I was also surprised by the number of interviewees having their voices altered, and faces blacked out. People are genuinely scared of speaking out.

It's happening to even younger children in the USA.

One of the most well-known doctors has put an 8 year old on testosterone and authorizes mastectomies for 13 year olds.

It's crazy that the UK seems to be getting the idea with Tavistock that there may be a problem, but other countries remain (willfully?) ignorant.

I read the thread too. Dont worry all the upvotes comments are critical of this while the downvotes support it lol.

The main attitude I see with danes is that “You can change your gender if you want / do what you want with your body as an ADULT” when it comes to children, most reasonable people would be against it.
