Dictionary.com Now Has a Libelous Definition of "TERF" on Their Site. I just complained to them, since it's a slur and the definition is based on LIES. Please complain also and share widely.

Sent them this:

TERF is not "a deliberately technically neutral description" as you claim. It is a slur used to shut up women who are critical of the trans-dogma: medicalizing young children, allowing intact males to compete in women's sports, allowing males to compete for women-only scholarships, etc...

"Woman" is a biological reality. Sex cannot be changed, because it defines us down to our very chromosomes (XX).

By the way, feminists critical of gender ideology don't exclude transmen. Your definition is not only a slur — it's wrong.

I sent them a complaint at https://www.dictionary.com/e/contact/ asking what rights are "TERF'S" opposing, the right for trans-identified men to get scholarships designated for women? The rights of trans-identified men to compete in sports, on the opposing sex team? The rights of trans-identified men to take up positions designated for women in politics? The rights for trans-identified men to change in sex-segregated spaces dedicated to the opposite sex? If these rights are granted to the trans-identified men, what rights are taken away from women? Their rights to scholarships, their rights to privacy, their rights to compete in sports on a fair level. These are rights women have fought for, and your definition is propaganda helping to give it away.

I lurked for a long while on the old GC board, but I'm being peaked more and more by the institutes bending over backwards to marginalise women for the sake of gender ideology. This support and enabling of misogyny has finally pushed me to make an account (not keen on the rest of the saidit platform so I'll probably go back to lurking), I cribbed a lot well made points from here and other gender critical feminists so I hope they get a united voice against this.

Someone(s) at Dictionary.com are clearly pushing an agenda with this. (I know, I know: Duh.)

Compare the TERF definition and examples, including the violent "punch" usage, with definitions for these other terms that can have strong opinions surrounding them:

Dictionaries are supposed to be impartial sources of truth, not opinion pieces. Why should anyone trust that site?

TiMs/TRAs seem to be placing themselves into positions of power at a lot of organizations irl (I know, I know... I sound like a conspiracy theorist).

A microcosm of this was how they slowly moved in and took over most of the female-centered subreddits by becoming mods, like at r/TwoXChromosomes or r/actuallesbians. Now they're TiM wastelands full of transbians.

I saw that, too, and now it seems deleted that symbol. Now it just says "TERF" in text with a pink background.

Guess they accidentally let the truth slip and now they're trying to hide it.

I sent them an angry complaint yesterday. They seem to have edited out the worst of the slander from what they had yesterday but it is still inaccurate and doesn't make it clear that it is a slur.

Totally unbelievable that a professional dictionary site would put up this crap in the first place essentially saying "beware of the witches!" and egging on violence against feminists. It's surreal how much power TRAs seem to have in the tech world.

I used to follow them on Instagram but stopped when it became obvious that they were super into the whole woke thing. They also run emojidictionary which includes “man in veil” and “person in veil”.

I contacted them pointing out that they're not 'hostile to trans people in the feminist movement' because feminism is about the oppression of the female sex class. All female people are welcome, including transgender ones. Used the example of abortion rights not affecting trans women because they're male.

TERF is used to describe cisgender women who self-identify as feminist but who are opposed to including transgender women

So, women who don't think men can be women "self-identify" but men who think that they can be women are "transgender women". Everything about this shit is outrageous.
