Also I have seen The End of the Fucking World and it's also devoid of gender speshulism. It's also quite glorious.

Have you seen "I Am Not OK With This"? It's based on another work of the author of It's the End of the F-ing World. Also on Netflix. I enjoyed it immensely.

Excuse me that is a Kinks song from the 1960s. They can borrow it if they want- it's glorious - but it doesn't stem from queer theory etc.at.all.

Yes, The Kids have been rebelling against being Put In A Cage By Society Man since forever.

My title is a joke! I thought that would be obvious. I even used the antiquated term "record label." But clearly I was wrong, my intent wasn't obvious. Oh well. LOL.

The point is, claiming not to be like everybody else is something young people have been doing for ages and ages. And which other young people have been making fun of forever too. Like Ray Davies of The Kinks did when he wrote this in 1966 - 54 years ago, when I was 11. Davies was widely known for having a good sense of humour and a strong satirical streak, which is reflected in many of his song lyrics.

Although "I'm Not Like Everybody Else" was on the B-side when released as/on a 45, in 1966-68 or so it was quite popular amongst the young people I knew at the time - and it was often used to poke fun at anyone who made a big show of pretending "I'm not like everybody else" the way those yoof who claim "I'm not like other girls/boys" do today.

You're "Not Like Everybody Else" just like everyone else is?
