Did it! They do ask for your name, city, and phone. (It might be optional not to give them).

This is one of the better written and thought out rule promulgations I've read! Worth a gander!

Also, do take time to read some comments. (Click the blue Rule title to go to the page to view the "Document Details"and "Browse Comments". Click the underscored "comment by name" to view each comment.) Oh, better believe the T & handmaidens have commented!

Blech--I shouldn't have looked at the comments.

Horrible, right? I noticed newest posts that whine for the "poor" men start with:

My name is FULL NAME and Im from Arlington, Virginia . Im writing in regard to the proposed Department of Housing and Urban Development regulation Making Admission or Placement Determinations Based on Sex in Facilities Under Community Planning and Development Housing Programs published on July 24, 2020.

I copied this directly. So a template. Trans Inc. Got to admit they mobilize. 13,000+ comments and climbing.

As a former government worker, reasoned comments addressing the inquiry are more actionable. The rule is already drafted and well defended in the Document Details.

HUD requests comments on what are good faith considerations that are indicative of a person's biological sex. Should HUD define what constitutes a good faith belief for determining biological sex and what type of evidence would be helpful for determining an individual's biological sex? How, if at all, should government IDs be considered?

HUD is also seeking comment on what requirements, if any, HUD should include in the final rule to ensure that shelter policies are coordinated and implemented in a way that allows all persons experiencing homelessness in the geographic area (including persons with disabilities) to be served timely and in a non-discriminatory manner? Is the requirement of providing a transfer recommendation unduly burdensome or does it otherwise pose operational challenges?

So, if I read this correctly, the proposal is that if someone shows up to a temporary homeless or emergency shelter, and they are the opposite sex of the one the shelter serves, they will be transferred to the correct one. That seems fair. They won't be denied service because of the anti-discrimination laws protecting "gender identity", they'll just be moved to a different shelter.

So many people in the comments think this revision will deny trans people service. They most likely saw some dumbass facebook post claiming this would "take away trans rights" and didn't even read it.

I hate people so much.
