This is extremely scary shit. People have lost their minds. I never thought so much of society could be this irrational.

I think it's the boiling frog analogy: it started with "I JUST WANNA PEE" and the ad campaign showed doe-eyed young kids who didn't want to be bullied in school for being their true selves - we could all relate.

Then, very rapidly and stealthily, the gender lobby started passing legislation, and voila, women wake up to their rights, their safety and privacy and their sports, gone.

The Awakening hasn't happened yet in the US, but it will. And, if the Equality Act is already law, it will be too late.

we could all relate

No I couldn't? Even at their first level, I was calling them out on their obvious bullshit.

Me too, but the bathroom bills were a huge success in the US because the gender lobby spent enormous amounts of money on them.

Here is a long but exhaustively researched read on the gender lobby, that touches on the bathroom bills and their suspicious funding. Well worth the read if you want to understand how we got here:

It can and probably will get worse. When the truth becomes completely detached from reality the sky is the limit. Anything that makes you feel good can be true.

I never thought so much of society could be this irrational.

Remember witch hunts? Inquisitions? Human sacrifices? Nazism?

Same energy.

I'm just surprised a medieval era could happen now. I guess all of this technology and science hasn't changed us one bit: at the first sign of social crisis, people start clinging to an absurd belief to let their worry and anger out on others.

(CCing my Ovarit response here!)

So here's the thing with this argument:

If all girls are SO different because we have... different heights, freckles, whatever...

Then why was 'girl' a category in the first place?

Why did we round up half of humanity, across every culture in the world, and say "this is a girl type" and "this is a boy type"?

And why, if trans(male) is just another sub-type of girl (that we're unfairly excluding), why do we not see cultures around the world that exclude other sub-types? Why aren't there cultures where tall girls are treated, socially, as boys? Or flat-chested girls? Or why, in any culture around the world, isn't the 'freckled' sub-type its own gender?

That doesn't happen because 'girl' is not a cultural identity, it's a physical fact. It may have sub-types but the core category is that these are all female children. The fact this cartoon is calling them girls and not PEOPLE in the first place is because they have all have something in common (being female) that not all people share.

If these categories were meaningless, we wouldn't have them across thousands of cultures and millions of years of humanity

Yep, the evidence that sex is not a social construct is how remarkably consistent and stable the division is throughout all of human history, across diverse geographic places and time (not to mention the fact that the human race has managed to keep reproducing itself lol). TRAs can only point to only a few examples of "another category" and in all but one case, it's clearly homosexual males and unsurprisingly never homosexual females.

And that other category is usually gay men forced to live as women, or take some of women's traditional roles, by the society they live in.

I love this.

Someone needs to draw a TIM with little penises on his face.

Being female and a girl is absolutely not an identity. That is our entire argument. If it is just an identity then why do we need a woman's movement.

If it was that easy, all the old feminists would've "indentified" themselves the fuck out of oppression. Path of least resistance, right?

Unfortunately that is what we are seeing today.

Girls can be easily forced to reproduce; "trans girls" with or without freckles, cannot.

I like how in the graphic when they show girls bodies they don’t dare show any of them with a dick because that’s a bit blatant.

[–]Shesstealthy 10 insightful - 1 fun10 insightful - 0 fun11 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

The thing that concerns me most is the implication that being trans is common. It isn't. Why not embrace themselves as rare flowers or something?

[–]BEB[S] 14 insightful - 1 fun14 insightful - 0 fun15 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Because this is not some harmless effort to stop discrimination of a tiny, traditionally persecuted minority.

This is a global, sinister, and staggeringly well-funded effort to destroy the notion of biological sex itself, children's sense of self and women's rights be damned.

The end goal(s) could be: trans-humanism; eugenics of gays, autistic and troubled kids; kicking women out of public life; lowering the birth rate; having "trans kids" provide cover for adult autogynephiles; or it could be all of that and more.

But it certainly is not about the welfare of the miniscule number of children with true gender dysphoria.

Being a trans girl is actually like being a boy with freckles. And claiming that freckles are cute, and cute things are girly, therefore you're a girl.

I read something else, that being a TiM is like being a girl with black/blonde hair because women come in all shapes and sizes. Barf.

I'm so glad I was educated years ago before all this craziness happened. I just feel sorry for the children and parents right now having to face this.

Is this image from a book for kids?

This type of rhetoric is going to drive nearly every GNC child away from their biological sex. I never identified as a girl because I wanted to live as a boy.
