Shirley Chisholm, Gloria Steinem, and Betty Friadian who seemed to actually know how to work together

Yes, they did, to an extent. But to put things in perspective: Chisholm and Friedan have each been deceased for nearly 15 years. Friedan was famously difficult, with negative attitudes towards lesbians and a superior attitude towards many women with experiences and views different to her own, including younger feminists and some women of different races and class backgrounds.

Regarding Steinem specifically, throughout her career she has never showed much of an interest in working with feminists of generations younger than hers. In fact, I can attest from personal experience that back in the 70s and 80s, she was actively hostile to younger feminists and went to great lengths to show disdain and not to provide support.

Steinem is still alive and fully embraces the idea that individuals should be able to self-identify their sex and says TWAW. Steinem has suggested on Twitter that Laverne Cox is the contemporary, forward-looking face and voice of feminism. In many platforms since at least 2015, Steinem has said that feminists should be welcoming of men who claim to be women.

Both Ms. Magazine and the Ms. Foundation now back full-on regressive TRA and gender ideology.
