Whilst overlooking the fact that nine female people die of homicide each and every day in the US; almost all are killed by men.

You don't even have to take sex work into account to see that the trans/TIM homicide rates are much lower. Just need to compare the homicide rates of the TIMs who are killed to the homicide rates of males of their same age, race, socioeconomic background, history of criminality and incarceration etc who are not trans. Then it becomes clear that TIMs from racial minorities and disadvantaged backgrounds have vastly lower risks of homicide than their non-trans peers. A young black male from a poor, high crime area in the US is much, much less likely to die of homicide if he's trans than if he's not.

Also, whilst many TIM homicides in the US do occur within the context of sex work, that doesn't account for the majority. The largest category of TIM homicides occur in situations of domestic violence between TIMs and their male partners or roommates. Usually, the domestic violence has been longstanding - and the violence between the men has been two-way, meaning the TIMs gave as good as they got. The dynamics of male-on-male DV are very different to the dynamics of male-on-female DV.

The trans lobby want the world to think that the US is overrun with hordes of violent transphobes hunting down TIMs. When in fact, many trans "murders" actually are the result of brutal fights between two violent men well known to one another in which one man ended up dead.

A new signatory is the Prostasia Foundation, which says it aims to reduce of child sex abuse by promoting greater acceptance of MAPs - minor attracted persons, meaning male pedophiles - and "sex positivity" more generally. It runs a "MAP Support Club" - "a community for minor-attracted persons to find friendship and understanding amongst their peers" open to MAPs age 13 and up.

whether fantasy outlets such as fiction, art, and role play are correlated with offending against children, if so whether this correlation is positive or negative, and in either case whether any causal relationship can be established.

A subset of this research is to investigate the effects of the use of sex toys such as dolls or robots by those with a sexual attraction towards minors, a topic on which we co-presented at the 2019 ATSA Conference. Further research into this understudied topic could inform current public debates over whether such toys should be prohibited by law, on the assumption that they would have a negative impact on rates of sexual offending. However a contrary hypothesis is that in some cases, the availability of toys may provide a safe, private sexual outlet for some people who would otherwise be at risk of turning their attention towards actual minors. This research should test these hypotheses.

IMO, Gloria Steinem has always been a self-promoting Pick Me. I saw her speak once and she lapped up the adulation of her young audience.

The rest are just F-ing idiots. I am not a violent person in any way, but if I saw any of them I would scream facts at them until they fled.

I had a soul-crushing experience with her as a young woman in 1984. Then in the 1990s, she reached out to me for assistance with a book she was writing, totally forgetting or completely unaware that she'd done me wrong years before. She snubbed or actively stymied feminist journalists and writers of my generation coz, IMO, she saw us as threats who could potentially displace her and she wanted to rule the roost. Some sisterhood.

If you ever feel up to talking about it, I would be interested in hearing what happened with Gloria Steinem. I'm not surprised that she snubbed or stymied younger feminists.

I was only around 16 when I heard Gloria Steinem speak and got a chance to talk to her for a few minutes. While she seemed very charismatic and almost glamorous, and I was very young and star-struck - I just got some kind of narcissistic vibe from her, like she was in it to be someone. Nothing I heard of her afterwards made me think otherwise because she seemed a bit of a star-F-er

It just struck me who Gloria Steinem reminded me of - Rachel Maddow. When I met Maddow she had that same narcissistic vibe and was also lapping up the adulation of the young people around her. Both seemed to love the sounds of their own voices, but I am just extrapolating from a few minutes spent talking to each, so it's probably not fair to judge them so harshly.

Although after this letter stunt, I think I was spot on about Steinem. Destroying everything feminists fought for in order to stay relevant - what a terrible person.

At the same time, fundamental operating principles of Hollywood and the entertainment industry are that sex sells, men run the show - and discrimination, exploitation, exclusion, sexual objectification, harassment, coercion and abuse of female people are just "inescapable facts of life" that girls & women in the industry have to put with as their lot.

Trans women and girls have been an integral part of the fight for gender liberation.

They enforce gender stereotypes. Up is down in their world. Really sad to see those women's names supporting that crap, esp. Melissa Etheridge. I can't handle that there are lesbians who haven't peaked.

"Gender liberation" is so lame that it would be laughable if the situation weren't so damned serious and depressing.

Feminism has always been about women's liberation - and one of the main things we've been seeking liberation from are the sex stereotypes that constitute "gender."

None of these women need to worry about sharing a prison cell with a rapist who identifies as a woman. They got personal trainers so they don't have to share locker rooms with sex pests. They'll never know what it feels like to escape to a women's shelter only to have some dude in a skirt stare her down like a pile of lunch meat.
