An oft repeated myth is that there are over 500k+ bms in Guangzhou, and that the bmaf rates are very high. Some on the net even call Guangzhou the "chocolate city" or make dumb jokes like that every 3 out of 10 cantonese are blk. However, looking at the stats we can see that not only is it demonstrably false but the ambf rates are far higher.

According to the “Yangcheng Evening News” (one of China’s largest newspapers) on December 1, 2014, data from the Guangzhou Public Security Bureau showed that there were 118,000 foreigners living in Guangzhou. This number include only 16,000 blks. Keep in mind that in easea nations the majority of "foreigners" are simply other easea or xfs.

In addition, according to the Entry and Exit Administration, there were 540,000 records of people entering and exiting Guangzhou who were from blk countries, but most of these records revealed that it was the same people who entered and exited Guangzhou multiple times due to business needs. Due to the short term of Chinese visas, the allowed stay time in the country was relatively short and the entry and exit had to be repeated multiple times throughout the year.

In 2017, it was reported that the number of blks declined to 10,344 people (including bfs)

In 2020, the number was recorded at around 14,000 Africans. So, the number of blks in Guangzhou is relatively low.

This idea that there are 500,000 black people in Guangzhou does not correspond with the records of the Chinese Public Security Bureau.

Furthermore, China has already deported a bunch of them for staying or working illegally. China takes law enforcement and immigration very seriously, as noted by the recent sexpat teacher that raped and murdered a student being sentenced to death. In some official documents Chinese classify them as "Sanfeiren" (Three Nots) and have made policies to deal with them if spotted.

In contrast the ambf rates are extremely high because the number of chinese workers in africa are a lot more and the majority are single men. Even blk nationalist spaces have complained at the sheer amount of ambf in africa due to chinese workers as noted below:
