That's why I put it out to the community at large. At least 60% agree with me and I'd say 90% of the intelligent respectable folks agree.

"Censorship" already exists on SaidIt and always has. Spam, porn, advocating violence, advocating child abuse, excessive downward trolling - they've all been "censored" which makes SaidIt a better community than other "free-speech" forums. SaidIt has never been for unbridled "free-speech" chaos, though it has always been for free-thinkers and truth-seeking. This is terrific, though there has been friction in the past over HOW this absolutely necessary management has been handled without being FOTPACH (fair, open, transparent, peaceful, accountable, consistent, honest).

To be fair I think many of the worst offenders are autists and/or women rather than disingenuous.

I've noticed with the rad fem crowd many women can be particularly terrier like with their arguing/accusations and won't take a breather for at least the first 40 replies. Even if they are right they look crazy.

I think more mods would help (d3rr's addition of mods helped), because that can potentially build content, which Saidit needs (and mods should be encouraged to post content). And I think the entire POD can be replaced with one rule: no personal attacks (eg. attack the points or arguments as much as one wants, but not the user).

If you have an argument against a comment by someone who can be revealed - in your argument - to be someone who was potentially paid for that comment, make that argument. Stay relevant. If instead you say that he/she was paid by Soros of FOX to make that comment, you still have to make the argument to support your point. If you claim others are shills - in public - you reveal that you are in the process of shutting them out of the conversation, which is in bad faith at Saidit. If Saidit is to promote discussions - and what is said - and saying your truth - it should do just that. If Saidit wants to continue promoting an echo chamber where users who don't join the political circle jerk are constantly attacked - then Saidit is not really Saidit.

You focus here on users, but without evidence. If for example you want to say that I am a shill, note what I have to gain by being a shill. Or better yet - do something that is part of the purpose of Saidit - make an argument that challenges another argument. If the other person you don't like can make a good counter argument, then you've had a discussion. But to call people you don't like shills is just childplay, and kills discussions, and kills Saidit. As I've said in response to this post - Saidit should grow when users focus more on topics rather than users. The SaidIt code needs one programmer willing to dedicate at least 5 hours per week. I think this would do more for SaidIt than anything else. And it would help my /s/FreedIt project. I don't have the time to do this myself but I would be willing to help as needed.

The inherited default has it's very limited uses, and I agree that an external wiki could be much better. I already started outlining ideas for bridging between sites and platforms: https://Projex.Wiki/wiki/WIP#Bridging_to_do. Not a top priority, but is certainly on my sloppy wish list that I need to organize better.

Coder
A coder could do things that you want, that M7D3 wants, and that Projex and/or WikiSpooks want. Wishes may mostly align, but priorities may not. That's what I meant.

oAuth + NextCloud
We've been talking about these as next steps. I need to powwow with my local Windsor folks about these to develop a case-use to present to d3rr, but right now many are preoccupied with Truckin Ottawa. I should also reach out to /u/Robin of WikiSpooks about this too. Have you any interest in participating? Have you ideas or opinions on these? With a Federated platform (or several) in the oAuth mix we could by extension be semi-Federated, though we'd all likely be relegated to the Deplorables' side of the tracks soon enough.

I am all for supporting federation of some kind. I would look into this more if there was a programmer.

I would contribute to programming if there was a primary developer who I could ask question to. I have never done a major project in Python and I don't want to deal with the learning curve alone.

I don't have the rabbinic view of shabbat. I work for money outside of shabbat and work on nonprofit things during shabbat.

I think to prevent shit like this we either need a new rule, be it unwritten, that you have to make a TL:DR for a link that "proves" a point you made or make an argument with scientific data in citations and prove a source for said citation, other than that just by saying read x or watch y then you'll understand is a really REALLY lazy point.

Be it frowned upon on or an illegal transgression I would like to put it up to a vote or something? I believe that such bad faith arguing is not even a debate really, it's just throwing shit till it sticks.
