Joseph Lam is a very interesting Chinese (HK) pseudo-celebrity who is basically famous for:

having a famous ex-girlfriend in spite of frankly mediocre looks having good educational and career credentials being a massive troll by doing things like dropping US$6K on bespoke suits and then reposting articles that tell him he looks bad in them The dude is a troll and a natural born hustler, he has no shame and he plays up his mediocre looks and welcomes hate because it'll give him more attention, and then he uses that attention to fuel his insurance, educational consulting, migration consulting, and second-hand used clothes businesses (seriously). He is obviously destined for riches and I really respect him.

However...this is why Asian men everywhere need to learn how to spot bananarangs. His girlfriend is some 32 year old (he's 30) called Hiromi Wada who is (in my opinion) obviously a white-worshipping bananrang and is (in my opinion) using him for his money. If a girl lives in HK and still manages to date whites then zero doubt (in my opinion) that it's a white-worshipper. Very typical trajectory - Lu realizes she's getting old and then leverages (declining) looks to latch onto a rich guy (and then uses his publicity to start her own jewelry business).

Guys like Joseph Lam need to protect themselves. They are appealing to bananrangs because of 1. wealth (and potential for even more wealth given his hustler mentality) and 2. perceived proximity to whiteness (Lam has good UK educational credentials and plays that up for his businesses although I don't think he's really white-worshipping, he just uses it for publicity).
