When was the last time you felt actual joy?

I am referring to a state of elated contentment that lasted for a prolonged period of time.

I have been sitting here in my apartment crying because it’s gently snowing outside while I am watching old 8-bit videogame Let’s Plays. For a brief moment, I forgot that I am a 27 year old adult man, and I felt like a child the day before Christmas morning. A cozy feeling that will likely stop coming the older I get.

My answer to the OP 'title' question? I guess many here 'think' I see the world as 'dog eat dog', and they're right! At least to a degree. Honestly, per your OP opener, the last time I felt actual joy, well I cannot really recall anything like you describe in the OP.

I'm in my early 40's, and yes, life has hardened me. Emotions can be good, and they can be bad; even the good ones can be distorted. What I do for myself, and no one else, is try towards self improvement. I don't give a fuck about any chick, or anyone else who impedes my own growth.

I guess I find joy in classical music, craftsmanship, honor, integrity, pride, and my dog; she gets me out in the sunlight.

I fucked enough prostitutes that I lost my ability to pair-bond anyway, so I don't ever feel bad about being incel. Whenever I accomplish my goals for the year I feel joy, and the last time that happened was 2 days ago.

I have a cluster C personality, fearful and avoidant. I think going to a prostitute would destroy my ego. Did you feel bad about it initially? Do you no longer desire women? Has it impacted how you interact with other people?

I felt bad about it initially but only because I failed my goal of losing my virginity the traditional way before I went to college. However that quickly passed and I realized most people think it's pretty cool I lost my virginity to a hooker.

I immediately stopped harboring that existential dread which permeates your existence when you're a virgin. I also immediately stopped putting the pussy on the pedestal because I realized I could have sex whenever I want for $300...and that sex isn't that much better than jacking off anyway. I realized 90% of the utility of getting laid is the social status, not the feels. I definitely continued pursuing women until I got blackpilled, but I was much less awkward because it stopped being quite as important.

It has only impacted how interact with people in a positive way. I can't recommend this enough. However, I got my hookers on the net pre-FOSTA. I couldn't even point you in the right direction at this point.

I can usually only feel it in nature. I remember looking out over a cliff at the Atlantic. It's massive, it's all you can see ahead of you, and for more than 180 degrees around you. I want to die there.
