Once the first check clears, he will run off without completing the work if the woman is lucky or, if she is not, he and his crew will will putter around over the next few days, do a little work, and then demand another check or some cash for an unforeseen expense. If the woman refuses either then or when the third or fourth payment is demanded, he and his men grow increasingly nasty and - according to one review - even turn violent. My theory on this is that the threats and violence are not just a means to extort money from the elderly but also a successful technique to discourage them from drawing further attention to him and his crew beyond maybe leaving an online review. As much as Kelvin loves his job, family does come first for him. Yes, Kelvin is a dedicated family man who cared so much about being a father that he became one at 13. As he felt it unfair that just he should be remembered for what he did, he also went on to rename his company after the two daughters from his marriage and continued to do business under it even after one of his daughters passed. There's a good chance that more people remember his two daughters marriage, surviving and dead, by the namedrops he did when he scammed and threatened them or their grandparents, as opposed to by meeting them in person. Despite Johnny's superficial claims of being a dedicated father, he also seems to have been cool with what Kelvin did to his daughters and to have continued working for Kelvin as recently as 2022, judging from this picture which - despite his claimed move to Minnesota at this time and him being removed from Jay-Starr as a member in 2020 - shows him doing tree work [ picture: https://archive.is/wip/8V5zp ] on a water oak.
