My screen name is homage to Jack Eddy. He was an American scientist who set out before 1976 to "debunk solar cycles". By solar cycles he meant those longer than 11 and 22 years. During the course of his research he changed his mind and realized the evidence for long-term solar cycles is compelling. I'm a science skeptic. I support facts, evidence, validated science and early (pre-Rousseau Western Enlightenment thinking and values). I'm skeptical of woke, climate, and COVID narratives in the media. I'm very familiar with modern philosophy - especially Nietzsche, Marxism, Critical Theory, Psychoanalysis, Post-modernism, Structuralism, Feminism, and I reject much of it. This does not make me NRX - it just makes me sensible. Nor am I any kind of neo- or post- Kantian. I'm ultra suspicious of philosophical and intellectual systems. I'm more suspicious of new alternative religions (Environmentalism, Woke, Atheism, ...) than I am of old religions. I suppose some people call me an eco-modernist (but I don't) and I am broadly sympathetic to Feminist causes (within reason). Yeh, you read that right I'm an atheist who doesn't trust Atheism.
