How did I end up here

I only go to Reddit for r/Fanfiction, and since the sub blackout, there was a community vote on what to do afterwards. The verdict has been to go private on Tuesdays, and a community migration has been on the table.

I signed up thinking I could start a sub here, just as a demonstration or a trial, for that community. But it turns out I need to wait 2 weeks before I can make a sub. (Shucks.)

I think e-mail being optional here is cool, and the registration process was a lot more hands off than having to self-identify as some variant of Marxist before a manual review process (Lemmy).

Hoping for a neutral place. (Is this it?)
