Thank god for After Ellen. And who the hell are these women who are trying to define what lesbians should be attracted to. Homosexuality, heterosexuality, and bisexuality are descriptions of factual realities, not a prescription for how anyone should behave. It does not make sense to redefine a freaking sexual orientation to be "inclusive" and no one should be made to feel ashamed of having sexual boundaries. Let's say they successfully redefine "lesbian" to be "inclusive" of males who identify as women, well guess what? Homosexual females would just need another word to describe ourselves. Where's the push for lesbian porn to be more inclusive? Somehow I don't think men would find a video of two transbians to be the same thing.

If sexual orientation was inclusive we would all have just gotten together with our best friends, regardless of their sex. We would all be able to have romantic and sexual relationships with anyone we liked in other ways, and that would be much easier. But that is not the case, no matter how much people want it to be. I would love for us all to be able to automatically be attracted to whoever we wanted, that would be amazing, but it can’t happen. It’s time for people to stop trying to turn sexual orientation into an all access pass to bodies they want to fuck.

Gays wouldn’t have needed liberation if it was not for our sexual orientation being real, no one wants to be told they are evil and don’t fit in, we have already been here and it didn’t work the first time.

I agree. AE is awesome. The forum got a few drops of pollution leaking in, but otherwise, it's pretty damn awesome.

And lol about the porn. Yeah... I don't think straight men would like that as much.

Funny how everyone is all about logic and reality until it makes someone's weiner feel bad. Then logic and reality need to change to make the weiner-bearer happy. It's all about what biological men want, whether or not they claim to be women.

Being seen as a potential sex partner or girlfriend by all lesbians isnt a human right, but good grief you would think it was by the way people are acting. I want to cry when I think of all the baby lesbians being subjected to "If you're only interested in biological women you need to sit down and think about why you're a bigot with a genital preference, TERF scum vagina fetishist" followed by a barrage of insults and TiMs chuckling about corrective rape of lesbians to make us like their "girldicks."

I even more strongly agree. Leaving women (or men) to decide what people (lesbians or otherwise) should be attracted to is the wrong way to do this. People should not be the source of this. That's where divine inspiration comes in.

Is lesbian sexuality exclusionary? Yes. But so is every other sexuality. And that is not a product of bigotry. Sexual orientation is shaped by a specific set of characteristics which set the parameters of an individual’s capacity to experience physical and mental attraction. This in itself is not inherently bigoted. And even if those criteria are met, attraction is not guaranteed. Only in the imagination of homophobes and porn-sick men are lesbians overcome with desire at the sight of every single woman we meet.

Yes. I hope After Ellen remains the way that it is. Good article.

I’m sure it’s in the body of the text, but it should say “exclusively same sex attracted” because tra activists will say they don’t oppose same sex attraction because they don’t mind people dating the same sex, what they oppose is if you are only attracted to your own sex. Basically they don’t mind bi or pan people, just gay people.

At this point they oppose any mention of same sex attraction as they want to redefine same sex attraction to be about gender. So it’s not even the exclusive part that’s the problem to them but that anyone’s orientation could be premised on sex.

Can you imagine being expected to be attracted to a set of stereotypes (gender roles and gendered clothing etc) ONLY? These ideas do not come from women.

So homophobic with more steps?

I shared this article and the following and got banned on AL:

"Lesbians are allowed to only want to date other women. If your biggest oppression is being denied sexual access to women, your not oppressed. Pressuring lesbians to accept dick in their sex life is rape rhetoric and conversion therapy.

None of this should be ban worthy in a lesbian subreddit, but we all know what's gonna happen to this post. If you feel uncomfortable with all this gender theory stuff, you're not alone."

This is depressing. I just want spaces to be with other lesbians cus it's so damn lonely being a woman who only loves other women and some straight guy who woke up and decided to be an anime girl at 23 doesn't know how that feels at all.
