MIRROR:
“My body, my choice” was one of the best arguments for pro-choicers. It was VERY hard to argue against. Bodily autonomy was a wall. At best pro-lifers could claim, it’s not your body, it's the baby's body… but this argument fell flat on most ears.
Now, when a pro-choicer says, “my body, my choice,” pro-lifers just laugh at them. The statement has lost ALL weight. A few months back, these SAME people were advocating for mandated vaccines. Where was the bodily autonomy for all the people who didn’t want to get the vaccine? Their body, NOT their choice? You get to choose for them?
The Left gave up their ace. They gave up their best argument. No one takes their “bodily autonomy” argument seriously anymore. Roe vs Wade could never have been overturned if “my body, my choice,” still had the power it once had.
Before the conservatives celebrate too much, they need to realize the broader ramifications. The Supreme Court’s decision in 1973 on Roe vs Wade, was decided based on the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution which provides a fundamental "right to privacy.” The SAME right to privacy we all had when it came to our vaccination status.
That’s right, we just lost federal legal precedent that recognized our right to medical privacy and bodily autonomy. Roe vs Wade was required to fall in order to implement mandates. Then they convinced you it was a win.
