This shit used to be so simple to understand before Zoomers were a thing, so here's a simple analogy for you little kids. Sex workers are in the same exact category as drug dealers, pimps, bootleggers, and other street hustlers. Prostitutes were in the same exact category before the internet existed! I don't personally hate drug dealers or bootleggers, as they're "doing what they got to do to survive," but I wouldn't marry or trust one, either.

You know what's funny? I grew up knowing several sex workers. I was friends with these women. Usually before they entered that work, though. My female best friend from grade school, Courtney, became a porn star at 18. Another girl I went to high school with, who was a straight-A student and had the wit to match, eventually became a stripper. All that intelligence, gone to waste. A blonde I was neighbors with, was both a stripper and escort. A girl I went to college with, was a model and escort. And one girl I met as a friend on Facebook, I later learned was an online escort.

So yeah, I grew up dirt poor and around these people. I don't blame these women for chasing money. But on the same note, I don't respect that kind of work, either. It's no different than if any of my male friends became drug dealers or robbed banks (but avoided hurting innocents.) My grade school BEST FRIEND became a porn star! She didn't even regret it either! She's been retired for a while now (being 35 currently) but she still did it. You can acknowledge that some people do bad things to survive, even if that includes scamming and exploiting losers and addicts through sex.

So yes, I am saying there is a middle ground between worshipping sex workers and dehumanizing them. The fact of the matter is, even if times have changed and everything is online now, scummy work is usually done by scummy people. Or at least "morally dark-gray" people. Not necessarily evil, but definitely not trustworthy or morally pure at all.
