r/K selection theory is why some short unattractive guys can get girlfriends

Women do prefer tall men, but their preference for r-selected men is stronger than their preference for tall men, so some short unattractive men can get girlfriends as long as they can demonstrate that they are r-selected. Actually shortness is an attribute of r-selectedness, so even though it is undesirable overall, it can help demonstrate to a woman that you are r-selected. A man who is stupid, impulsive, and short is almost certainly r-selected, and this is why a man with these traits will have no problem getting a girlfriend.

To be honest short men are my type but I'm trying to stay away from them because they all have massive insecurity issues.

They scare away the few women who will have them with their small dog syndrome.

You should date someone like my next-door neighbor. He's short and has an attractive wife and two kids. I can't speak to whether he has insecurity issues, but he has a massive house and 5 acres of land. If he was insecure, it drove him to be successful.

    Even if applying r and K selection to different humans makes sense (besides maybe HBD-type stuff), you would almost always want your mate to be K selected. You don't choose an - selected partner, you just can't find a better one because quantity over quality is the dominant strategy.

    Also, I doubt r/K selection makes sense for humans anyway. Right now stupid and impulsive people might have an evolutionary advantage (in a society), but this is not really because of frequent cullings and instable environment, but because our environments are too confortable, which is outside of the r/K framework. Right now, the optimal strategyfor a human in the west is to produce as many children as possible without any considerations towards quality or feeding them.

    Men who actually like women already know a huge section of the female population are far more attracted to personality traits than physical ones but self obsessed narcissistic males who project their own obsession with looks onto women for the very reason they are narcissists don't understand the reason they are incels is because as narcissists they have no interest in learning how others think or feel and that is why women are not attracted to them.

    The only personality that studies have shown to be attractive to women (independent of the man's looks), is low-inhib, sensation-seeking (e.g. prone to substance abuse), narcissist, sociopathic, macchiavellian personality.

    Not quite sure I agree with you there, JosephDeMaistre! Women are, like all human beings, seeking a partner who can protect and care for them. Men who are physically fit, take care of themselves (hygiene, skincare, clothes), and are reasonably successful in a career, business, or artistic pursuit should not be worried about finding a decent partner, or partners, in life. The hard part is focussing on yourself, sacrificing time for future success, and having some fun along the way.
