TAM called Jason a pedo at the end of the OP (had nothing to do with the socks situation or his banning due to the socks situation, TAM just leaked PM’s randomly where Jason discusses a friendship he had and developed with this young girl because of her wisdom. He said he felt she was wiser than most adults here on SaidIt, yet at the same time, was so young she was still “romantically innocent” (to prove how wise in other areas she was, wiser than most adults he felt, and how much it impressed him when he found out how young and innocent she actually she was).

They started speaking because she seemed so wise to him, neither of them knew the other’s age until later on, and even then they didn’t speak for long. Jason revealed in the leaked PMs he knew neither her name, or what she looked like, which if you think about it, if he’s an active pedophile, he would have hounded on those things, prolly edging his way in for a photo starting with her name.

Honestly, it isn’t against the law to befriend someone younger than you on the internet if its just an innocent, platonic relationship (and calling someone a pedophile for befriending someone for how mature and wise they are, as well as how much you have in common - only to later find out how much younger they are than them, is a stretch and heavy accusation) - nothing in those PM’s broke the law or hinted at breaking the law, and I don’t defend pedophiles or pedophilia whatsoever.

The way he described it, it reminded me of the type of friendships I made with adults when I was a kid/squeak box playing Halo 2 (my first online game and first time being exposed to adults and older kids like that online, I would speak to some adults and kids for hours - but not about anything bad, i usually enjoyed convos with high school kids and adults the most concerning life, life lessons, their experience and views on my current situation/problems or just the game itself as they were the wisest if they were actually willing to talk to me about those things which was rare. I don’t have an older brother or sister or cousin or anything). I even played neopets when I was like 10-12 and was friends with both males and females who were in their late 20’s and spoke with them on AIM. Just because they were older than me doesn’t mean they were pedophiles or talked to me inappropriately.

Tl;dr: that’s the only thing about those leaked PM’s that TAM shared at the end of the OP for no reason, unrelated to his banning with socks - Jason was much older than the girl he was talking to TAM about, which is why TAM was accusing him of being a pedo. But that’s not what started their dialogues and he didn’t even find that out till later, and only mentioned it because it amazed him how wise they were for their age. That was it. No crime.

Edit: and for what it’s worth, as well as to those who read this, (I honestly don’t know how genuine it is as I don’t believe TAM is stupid, and I didn’t believe TAM was capable of switching on me like that, but they did), TAM did send me a PM last night apologizing to me and explaining themselves. But ultimately apologizing to me over anything, about how they responded to my comment. They didn’t have to do that.

I’d like to believe their apology is real and organic and they just misunderstood me and slipped up. I just don’t feel TAM is stupid, and we always were polite to one another when we spoke or interacted and they knew I wasn’t a trouble user; to randomly flip on me as an admin like that is kind of weird to me (especially with the new, troll accounts popping up at the same time using the situation to their advantage and praising and thanking TAM). But I do wanna give TAM the benefit of the doubt.

No one said TAM had to apologize to me.
