TBF, this entire post reads like botposting... In any case, my account still has the timer and it's 2 months old. I think it's just at precautionary measure. Are you doing über-dodgy things like posting from a VPN, like I do?

What exactly is a VPN? Linux tech tips always adverts one but I don't see the benefit or need of it. To me it just seems it will invite more spying as they will know your on it as most people claim to be 'safe' once the masses get onboard the government usually follows suit which means the 'normal' way is now safer then the VPN way.

The biggest difference where I live is that my ISP is mandated to log all my traffic for some time. My VPN provider isn't.

So my internet traffic is basically "He connected to the VPN again" no matter what I do.

Of course my VPN provider could trick me and store my data. Just like the ISP's do.
