API useless due to captcha? Or?

So I wrote a lil bot that reposts trump's posts on reddit and Twitter and got it to work. Thought adding more platforms could be useful. Altered the code just a bit for it to almost work here but hit its an error saying CAPTCHA wasn't filled.

Obviously it can't provide solved captchas as it is automated so I'm wondering what is the solution supposed to be in this situation. I kind of assumed reddit would be the more limiting platform. Or is there a difference in approach where CATCHAS everywhere here allow for lighter moderation load and implementing this is just a non-starter?

What I am hearing is that the captcha is working as intended and makes my frustration with having to enter it worthwhile. It's almost like we don't want this site to devolve into just bots cross posting the internet. If someone wants to see his tweets it is easy for them to do so.

It's not possible for an European to register on Truth Social and there's no discoverability on the site without an account. The only way I was even able to obtain the link to his account was because I remembered I had once spotted that a direct link worked, then tried a few permutations of URLS which didn't work, then asked on 4chan which finally worked. So obviously not "easy", the discoverability is almost as bad as it gets.

Likely the reasons for not making it easy for Europeans are that it's not really useful for the campaign, plus GDPR woes so for discoverability of that content is best done by a third party. And if it isn't by reposting then it is by news media which will invent things to say but those are less useful than nothing. Posts directly from the source with commenting on platforms that aren't hyper polarized is the best way to tackle this.

So I disagree that this would be "just bot spam content" considering it is otherwise fairly impossible for an European to integrate his tweets to any of their common collated media feeds otherwise (of which we think scarily little of what goes in to assembling them!)

I'm not an expert on this, but I do use the saidit app, and that works fine, and on desktop the only time I've been required to solve a captcha is when signing in. So I don't know the details, but I would imagine this is a similar situation. You probably only need to do the captcha when you're initially setting it up.

But I admit this platform seems fairly neglected so there could be something broken too.

Probably. Most of us have trouble even logging in normally because the CAPTCHA decides to fail everyone for a while.

There’s a service to auto solve captchas. Can’t remember what it’s called but basically it’s human powered with an api. Reasonably priced.

Thanks but that's a bit besides the point considering point is adding multipliers with none/minimal maintenance burden and I wouldn't be surprised if moderation considered that even a bit hostile towards this site
