I sort of understand how it stops the organized left taking over like they have most places (normal people have jobs n shit, without time for such stuff)

On the other hand it means we can't downvote said leftist retards and the spam bots, so the fuckers are everywhere.

Mmmm.

Only 2 people in this tiny group tend to disagree with fascists like you

I agree that spam should be nixed, but I'm not for censoring opposing viewpoints.

Sadly, some are spamming their viewpoint, regardless of logic and evidence.
This makes it too easy for shills to misuse the system.

Counter bad ideas with good ideas. Or just block em. Censorship is a slippery slope.

This is the best approach. A cat and mouse game basically. It is the only way, like an evolutionary arms race.

There is a big difference between the powerful censoring political dissidents and making deliberately disruptive posters more difficult to see.

The paid posters are the real threat. Spam is an annoyance.

But yeah, with downvotes they'd be an even worse problem.

All they have to do is quote your post and ask an AI to compose an opposing reply, and presto. You can tell the AI voice is speaking.

I agree, this is indeed a good mechanism

And if the post or comment is not insightful and or funny, I block the shit out of the commenter or poster.

The problem is that the real audience are the neutrals, and if you block the paid posters, they get to run free all over the site.

Wouldn't that still put that post/comment into the sky?

Oh yeah, really? You like it? Then Downvote me if you are not gay!

reddit's downvotes and upvotes are manipulated, don't mean anything

[–]lambdawinner829 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I totally get what you mean! The upvote/downvote system on reddit can sometimes lead to a bit of a popularity contest. It's cool that Saidit keeps it simple with insightful and funny options. It's a more positive way to engage with content without the negativity of downvoting.

downvote mechanism facilitated manipulation
