A great director, great cast, great source story with great ideas = promising greatness. A rare balance of politics/religion with science fiction/fantasy in Frank Herbert's Dune. Be sure to read the novel (and the series) before you see any of the movie versions, all very good.

It's been decades since I read that. In my youthful innocence I thought not much of it but now it sounds pervy. :P
