QUOTE: "Headlines like "IoT botnet targets enterprise devices" sound very scary, but the reality is that many of these botnets are the work of kids playing around with random exploits they found online, and many of these botnets die out in a matter of weeks as the authors get bored or move on to other projects."
I'd be lucky to call myself a computer 'novice', but what does stand out to me, is the vulnerability of computer tech. Compare this vulnerability to the hands on machines being controlled.
One press of the wrong switch, or input the wrong variable, and presto, you could destroy stuff that cannot simply be 'rebooted', or 'reset'; things that could take months, years, or perhaps cannot be rebuilt under any acceptable time frame.
So we've got the 'techno computer crowd', leading society via automation, but with vulnerabilities that could really bring some serious doom.... awesome!
