Caste-based superiority complex, but stripped of the actual lower castes that they'd normally step on to display their inherent superiority. So they grab the next best thing, which is being woke and offers an entirely new range of "untouchables" to lord it over.

Nope. But it's not hard to notice a pattern in behavior, both in person and on social media, in how some of them act. And if you've got the sort of reading habits that result in you actually knowing a bit about places other than 'Murica, then connecting that behavior to specific cultural elements offers a pretty handy starting point for explaining the former.

Immigrant, Indian, called Pete Buttigieg an "open racist", also said that because speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi is a white feminist, she is a white supremacist, and therefore "if you idolize Nancy Pelosi, you may as well declare allegiance to David Duke". Just an ugly, hate-filled person. I would not like to be her. Miserable all the time, nothing is ever good enough, always on the brink of disaster.

If you want to know what it's like to be one of these people, read the influential essay Exiting the Vampire Castle. It describes what it's like to be on the far left, how terrible everyone feels all the time, and they're always witch-hunting. The author was roundly condemned for writing it and hounded to death.

Pete Buttigieg got a weirdly intense hatred from the far left. By all accounts he was a caring and involved mayor, so they had to throw a bunch of things at him until something stuck (“racist”). Why? Because he demolished some crumbling vacant houses that the black residents literally asked him to demolish.

I think that the problem that the left has with him is that he's not their magical gay mascot in the political scene, constantly farting around the pearl-clutching straights on a stream of glitter and "yasss, Pride!" Instead he's just a white, male politician who happens to be gay.
